AirPlay to Apple TV shows a small red circle slash

Here what did it for me: manually select the resolution to 1080p in YouTube.

The AppleTV underscan feature didn't work.

I have the same issue - using Apple TV 4K with tvOS16.2. Airplay from MacBook Pro Ventura 13.1 or iPhone XS Max 16.2 results in the red circle on video from certain sites via Safari but it is not consistent. Screen mirroring from the Mac works fine.

Change resolution on web browser from drop down in video screen. I hope this helps.

I am using an Apple TV 4k 2022 software tvOS 16.1.1 (20k80). I am attempting to airplay and/or mirror from an iPhone 13 Pro Max software 16.1.1 When I attempt to airplay and/or mirror I get a blank black screen on my television with a red 'prohibited' symbol: circle with a diagonal slash, same as original question in this thread. Fox Sports 1 app will not work, other media apps will not work. YouTube works.

Having the exact same issue. Just got the 14 pro max and didn’t have any issues w the 8, but now I get this little circle w a line thru it when I try to AirPlay. Have tried resetting everything and nothing words.

I have the same issue. Streaming from my iPad Pro to my Apple TV. I can watch other apps on the Apple TV and stream YouTube but when I try to stream a video from a website I get the 🚫 symbol at the bottom left of the tv screen.

Same issue, Apple TV 4K and iPhone 14 Pro, both on the latest software. Trying to stream downloaded episodes from HBO Max. Everything appears to be working except the red crosshatched circle. Why isn’t Apple replying to these posts with a resolution.

Usually I can mirror shows just fine. But if I change the usual sequence of turning the function on I get the red prohibition sign as well. And once it's there it won't go away. I may log out, unplug etc. but the circle will be there. A few weeks later, when I try again, it suddenly works again. Strange, eh? My cell as well as the apple box are always up to date.

This is really puzzling: it works and then it doesn't and then after some abstinence it woks again.....

I don't know what you mean by settings/video audio. On the iPhone or on the Apple TV? And exactly where in those devices?

I tried changing the resolution on the Apple TV to 1080p, and that didn't work. On the iPhone, if you mean change the resolution in the app that is playing the video (in my case SVT), there is no option to change the resolution. Is there another place to change the resolution on the iPhone?

I am also getting this issue I have a iPhone 11 Pro and iPad 11 pro along with Apple TV 4K. All are currently updated to iOS 16.6 This issue just started a few months ago. But I can airplay just fine to my Roku tv. It’s only happening with my Apple TV when doing videos from websites.

I have the same issue with Apple TV and it’s last update I use my iPhone to connect BeIN connect to the Apple TV showing the red circle otherwise I have another tv (Samsung tv) that has Apple TV built in it’s working fine with the same video but on the other tv not working so I think the issue from apple machine itself

I'm having the same issue as well when I try it from both my iphone and ipad. Both devices are up to date regarding the latest OS. Please advise as to what the issue is.

Same issue when trying to airplay…iPhone works..iPad getting the problem of blank screen and I see a red circle 🚫 when attempting to stream a video
