I have the same issue. Streaming from my iPad Pro to my Apple TV. I can watch other apps on the Apple TV and stream YouTube but when I try to stream a video from a website I get the 🚫 symbol at the bottom left of the tv screen.

Still stuck with 🚫. Just from one particular App on my Apple phone that has worked fine for years until earlier this year.

Tried the suggestion provided above - changing the TV resolution settings, re-started Apple TV device, no luck. On my phone, there does not seem to be an option to change the settings in the App I am trying to stream from but Apps and websites stream just fine.

I might have just been lucky...but...

I had the video steaming on my phone, then turned on screen sharing and got the same black screen and red circle slash.

I stopped the video on my phone and then reloaded the website by just clicking the circular arrow in the white field at the bottom of the screen.

When it reloaded it the screen sharing, which was still on, started to work. Then on my phone I selected full screen mode icon in the video stream and hey presto! It worked.

So it makes me wonder if the order is important. Screen sharing 1st, launch stream 2nd, full screen 3rd.
