Cannot sign into Windows iCloud: get a pop-up with only a red circle with a white cross

To avoid the notepad step:

Open cmd.exe

cd %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\

findstr /sin APNSDaemon *

(delete those)

This solution unfortunately did not work for me. The problem persists.

Hronk's solution worked for me! nb my stuff was in the folder: c:\users\[user account]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-21....\

I took the steps suggested by "hronk" in 2023 it still works, thanks "hronk".

Was able to follow the steps and deleted the file, but unfortunately didn't work. Same issue.

Are you supposed to delete the whole directory or only the file?
