google maps making carplay lag

Apple is basically ghosting all that have these problems. They give non answers like the one above, which does not help. They need to get in touch with car manufacturers to solve it, I guess.

It’s clearly after iOS update as i have tested using android and it worked fine. Also I have tested the same in iOS 15 and it worked well, the issue started after iOS 16. There will be a 2 to 3 second lag in your current gps position when you use it for navigation and even there will be a lag in other on screen buttons. Also sometimes the entire screen hangs like this👇

I am having the same problems and generic instructions like resetting the phone and using different cables do not work. There is also evidence that we are not the only ones with this issue and it seems to be related the combination of iOS16, Google Maps and Apple Carplay.

Apple still won't care. I was handed over on the phone from one Apple Care Agent to another (everybody said that they will transfer my call "to the bosses"). I was transferred like 5 or 6 times. So I guess I went up pretty far the ladder (lol).

They basically have no idea and cannot do anything, because they cannot reproduce the error. I told them that I suspect Google Maps / Waze for this behaviour.

I have the same lag issue from IOS 16 + google maps + carplay combination. But at the same time car play from a android device works well with google map and carplay. I don’t think apple would risk this way to make their users use Apple Maps forcefully. They could prioritize and look into this.

I have the same issue started in Nov on a Honda. Use google maps for 1-2 mins and buttons respond after a 3-5 second lag. Not sure if this was caused because of a Google maps update or an iOS update.
