Absolutely! I’ve already been thinking about going back to android. And androids have WAY better features for parents with school-age kids, i.e., Apple iPhone’s screen time only lets you choose one “downtime” timeframe: how is a parent (who needs their child to have a phone for pickup/drop-off communication) supposed to choose whether to have downtime be during school or for bedtime/overnight?
No, it’s not possible and ridiculous to remember to change it every morning, afternoon and night — then, factor in kids of different ages, schools and bedtimes.
Having two options for a downtime schedule cannot be difficult to implement since SO many other apps have this feature already, like Bark for example.
Yes, I can and have gotten and used some of these other apps, but inevitable overlaps are beyond frustrating and confusing and take up HOURS of time unnecessarily since Apple can just fix screen time to allow for more than one restricted time period per day. These issues on a device for communication absolutely lead to conflicts between parents and their children, especially tweens and teens, when the device literally exists to create the ability to…communicate!
Frankly, if iPhones have screen time, it should be as good as or better than the basics of apps for the same.
Instead of improving these existing features, Apple is adding ways for kids to get around purposeful restrictions.
C’mon. There’s just no excuse for this….
