Brother scanner doesn't work after Ventura upgrade

Definitely a problem. Brother iPrint&Scan no longer works. Other software such as VueScan has no problems.

I have the same problem with Brother DCP-L2540DW. I am not able to use the scanner with "Brother iPrint&Scan" app. I even downloaded the latest driver from Brother website https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=dcpl2540dw_us_as. I can not use the scanner at all.

I see that if I uninstall my Brother l2740dw and reinstall it, the scanner works for a few minutes, then stops and reverts back to a grayed out scanner on the screen. So I have to keep reinstalling the printer every time I want to scan. But not if I only want to print. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm having the same issue after I upgaded my Mac OS to Ventura. I tried downloading VueScan but that isn't working either. I also tried the additional tips provided below on this thread but no luck. Any additional thoughts on what might help me get my scanner to work? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I did see it and opened Image Capture and don't see any way to setup the scanner. My Brother Printer, Scanner, Fax is in my OS config so not sure what else needs to happen to get Image Capture to recognize my device.

I have not tried VueScan but need at least the $50 version to support scan to PDF and document feeder. At this time I am just moving files to my wife's Windows machine that still supports the Brother app and drivers. Not the best approach but works and need it right now.

Same thing with my Canon. They are no longer supporting after Catalina. Image capture doesn't work as it needs a camera or scanner so not sure why people are recommending it. If your scanner doesn't work, there is nothing for image capture to connect to. I don't scan often so I'll find somebody with a scanner. I refuse to buy another one-this one is perfectly functional. Planned obsolescence in another form.

I just discovered my Brother scanning broke recently. Now I see it is universal. This really sucks!

I tried Image Capture for the first time ever. It says "No Camera or Scanner Selected." And no way I see to select one!

I have a Canon which will not support Ventura and doesn't plan to. Image capture requires a device connected to it so I don't know how it would work otherwise.

Vue Scan didn't work for me. It says it accepts my scanner but then zip.
