Mail Follow Up & Remind Me Not Working

I have two issues with the new mail functions in MacOS:

  1. The "Remind Me Later" options for mail messages are greyed out, and thus I cannot choose to have mail remind me about them later.
  2. Emails requiring follow ups seem to be correctly labelled for Follow Up, however they do not move to the top of my mailbox as I would expect.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi chief86,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that your Mail is not moving your Follow Up mail t the top and you're unable to select the option to be reminded about emails.

For these features, make sure that your Mac has been updated to the latest macOS version and restarted to restart currently running processes. If this continues, enter in safe mode where startup items are limited to run while a health check is performed and check for the same behavior.

Apple silicon
1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.
3. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”
4. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor
1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.
2. Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.
3. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window.

You can find these steps and steps on how to proceed in How to use safe mode on your Mac.

Regards.
