I just reset our Apple Homepods but when I go to invite the rest of my family they do not receive the invitations? I have updated the software on their phones and everyone is running the latest iOS versions. I have cancelled the invitation and tried reinviting them and still they receive nothing. What can I do to fix this? Why do they not give the option to send invitations by iMessage or email?
Same issue here. 16.2 completely removed a family member from the Home. Trying to invite them back does nothing; the invitation just shows as pending.
I spent an hour with a senior advisor who could not figure out the issue. Obviously something is broken on Apple’s end and they won’t admit it.
My girlfriend has an iPhone 12 mini with newest iOS 16.3 version and a little older MacBook Pro 2015 with macOS 12.6.3 (the newest version of macOS is 13.1, but her device does not support it).
When I'm sending invitation to her, she receives it on the macOS. She see invitation and is able to join home on macOS, but home is not visible on iOS. More: she joins home on macOS and is able to control home, but iOS still see noting.
It seems like a migration or version compatible issue for me...
It is at least somewhat of a consolation to learn that numerous other people have had similar experiences with the Home Pod Mini and Home app scenario. An over-used word these days is “transparency,” but I guess there is still a place or two where the idea has not caught on.
Hi same to me 😂 everything has been updated: my iPhone iOS, my Mac Ventura, my HomePod mini to the new Home architecture… it has even get some another update to 16.3.1! Still my Home app on my Mac didn't receive any invitation from iOS… what's going on with these all dozens of invitations I've been already sent? Is there any HomeKit system logs where I can find out what's wrong? All I can see is these pending invitations just hanging there in iOS Home app

Plus, Apple Support has stopped responding about my existing support cases related to this issue. They don’t respond to emails anymore, and they stopped responding to the voicemails I have to leave.
Two iPhones with IOS 16.3 and one Home Pod Mini with IOS 16.3.1. I am not even sure what the new architecture is at this point. I was told that the mini invite feature might work with the 16.3.1 update. Nope.
624 users have taken the time to identify this problem. Perhaps there is a magic number that must be reached before Apple will comment on or address this issue. Apparently, the invite is supposed to be received within the Home app on the invitee’s iPhone.
This problem has been driving me crazy. It seems to be isolated to users that have only previously been invited to your home. If they're removed, they can't be added back. It also appears to be an iOS16/MacOS Ventura issue. One of my wifes devices was on MacOS Monterey and it was recieving the invite. I accepted the invite, was able to see everything as normal, but the home wasn't showing up on your other devices that were on iOS16/Ventura. After I upgraded to her laptop to Ventura, the home disappeared. Hopefully Apple fixes this soon.
I spoke with Apple support and their answer was “wait for an iOS update.” Guess what? There has been an update and the issue is still not resolved. If Apple wants to be a player in the home automation space they need to fix this.
Yep. Updated iPhone 14s to IOS 16.3.1 and went through the “invite” routine. Well, that didn’t change anything. I am just getting tired of trying to find out if Apple is even trying to make this work.
What solved the issue for us was changing the name of the home. If you can access the home as an owner, change the name from the default “My Home” to something unique. Almost immediately after changing the name, my family member got the invite that had been pending forever. We also removed all existing unused homes from the family member’s app. Hope it works for others!
Just asking, are you sure you have had contact with engineers? The senior support advisor that I spoke with indicated that the engineers had not responded to the post of this problem. It would certainly make the situation a little more palatable if Apple would comment on the actual status of this issue.
SO: Significant Other. Apple Home app, yes. I used her iPad, deleted her unused home and immediately got a notification within the app with the invitation. After accepting that, it populated the app with the home I had created. I'd redo it and take screen grabs, but I'm afraid of it failing hahah
I'm getting totally dumb founded why it works for some users but not all.... I send Invitation from my iPhone 13 Pro ( iOS 16.3.1 ) to my iPhone 10 running iOS 16.3.1 still NOT ABLE to receive the invitation after trying all kind of suggestions in this threat... however I can receive the new Invitation in the old Home App running on my iphone 6 ( iOS 12.5.7 ) !
This is still broken in 16.3.1! We have reset house completely, authenticating etc and it still doesn’t work. How is it possible to have such a basic essential feature broken for so long?
Clearly there’s nobody left in Apple QA.
Same here in Sweden, no invitations to one iPhone but works on another. I had read that they working on a new architecture, maybe because of that they will not do anything on this version.
