Airpods Pro 2nd gen case battery drain

so after about 8 hours still 23%, everything turned on, looks like update fixed the problem

So you did full reset after new update ?

I read that new firmware (6A299B) solve the battery problem, I think we need to wait to iOS 17 release

To Re-Enable it:

As you might suspect, no one here would know the reason for this occurrence, of course. So, contact Apple Support. They’ll know why this occurred and will run you right through the fix.

Didn’t work for me. Also I noticed that the “Play Sound” isn’t working on Find My for the AirPod Pro 2 either. I’m going into the Apple Store. This product is not the quality that I’ve come to know and expect from Apple.

I have tried this method to eliminate this bug. However, it seems does not work for me. I used my airpods until 90% and put it back in the case was at 96%. 15 minutes later, my case drop to 92% and it seems pretty decent. I left it for 5 hours and it drained extra 3% for not using it. does it seems like it was normal??

i’m frustrated since I have taken it to genius bar. they stated my airpods were working fine even though I know there were something wrong. I have expected a fix from apple since it still has some guarantee running on. Therefore, I searched on the internet to find out what i need to turn off in order to remove this bugs. I have done everything starting from turning off the find my.

I would also consider to re-buy it again. do you think it is a good decision?

I know the feeling with being frustrated. Last senior advisor I talked to send they are working normally. They won't accept the fact there is something wrong with them. 1st gen never did this. I wouldn't bother re-purchasing them cause I don't think it would make a difference. Just my 2 cents anyways.

Yeah, I was also clueless when genius bar did the hardware checking especially in the battery section and it passed everything!

in my mind, I am also thinking that it could be the hardware faulty that’s why I consider to buy a new pair. Strangely, the rest of apple audio devices has new software but not with airpods pro 2nd gen. I think it was not fair to us who are facing this issue.

I want to let you know about what I have tested yesterday. so, I have used the airpods and put it back in the case (was at 90%) and it charged until around 81% until my airpods is fully charged. Then in the next 2 hours, the case slowly dropped to 80% and then 79%. The funny thing is now it stay at 79% without any drains. do you think the drop was normal or not?

I have currently want to try it out again and draining the whole battery in the case until zero so I can charge it from zero to 100 and I will see the result. But I still do not quite understand what the case drained even after both airpods has been fully charged for like 1 hour. sometimes, it starts draining at around 1.5 hours after using and sometimes it does not drain at all

yes indeed, but i guess when you brut force and disable find my it will disable also the notify me when left behind ... i had no time to check the whole tread here but is there someone who said that even with the option

do you mean by the spatial personal audio?

I have always turned that on and I had tried without using it and it does not drain lots of battery. However, the price that you want to pay is the sound quality became lower and the audio quality is decreasing.

Have you tried already? How it goes? I was thinking to do the same and yeah I still think that it’s about pods not the case, main reason is that case try to keep the pods at 100% always , at the begging on pods it was showing charging even at 100% but somehow I fixed that and now it shows green icon when it’s fully charged. I’m gonna test it like you said above gonna put out the pods and leave case alone for awhile, I’ll be back with the answer later on
