I had iPhone XS Max and AirPods Pro working without any issues…

i lost them in Jan and bought a new

“AirPods Pro 2” pair

And now they are not working

like everybody here says, it is the same:

disconnecting, connecting, disconnecting, it brings me nuts!

Apple was so kind to give me brand new pair today as a substitute,

because they were bought only 2 weeks ago - eligible for change.

Lucky me??

NO!

SAME STUFF!!!

They have to admit, there is a problem, it’s iPhone XS Max, and AirPods Pro 2

Will have to contact them tomorrow

PS Wr tried all the stuff with support online - that is the discussed here.

Before sending me a new pair they tried REALLY HARD :-)

did it all many many many times,

nothing works, people.

Indeed, a pity and a very uncommon (for Apple) pity!

I just posted my feedback on official Apple website with a link to this thread,

And will call to Support tomorrow to let them know.

Everybody who is reading :

Let Apple know!

• Go to Feedback

• call Support

• improvise!

Because Support - does not have any idea of the problem.

Really!

Just DO NOT KNOW!

They just followed the script &….provided me with new AirPods…!

So - no idea it’s a bug, and a huuuge one to say the least.

Dear friend!

Forget about it... Save your energy for something good!

After the Pro 2 replacement from Apple didn't work out (read above) - I figured out there's some deep s**t going on here.

So I returned them my replacement AirPods 2, and got the money back.

Then - bought AirPods Pro, 2021. Same exactly like I lost before this trouble started with me.

Works like Swiss clock !!

This is the only way you can fix this, everyone!

Just drop your AirPods Pro 2 -> go & buy AirPods Pro 1 (well, if you can still make that Pro 2 return, of course...)

Apple won't make the move - they are not rolling out an update for all Apple users, just to fix a bug for such a small (for them) community of some troubled folks with XS or XS MAX...

Face it.

Live it through & Go on.

Peace to everyone.

I am using iPhone Xs Max (MT622LL/A) with iOS 16.4.1 with iPod Pro 2 (A2698) Firmware 5E133. The first time it worked flawlessly. After that it did not. It improved from a delay of 30 seconds or more to a delay of around 10 seconds. If you cannot fix this, you should offer a refund of my iPods? I have 2 (iPod Pro #1 & #2) sets that neither work.

I'm having the same issue (iPhone XS), as are dozens of people over on reddit. It seems to be specific to the XS series of iPhone, and afaik Apple has not released an update which addresses the issue. I'm currently updating to iOS 16.5, we'll see if that fixes the issue. The answer to this problem should not be to either ditch my $250 Airpods or to buy a newer phone.

Some change has been done in the late weeks of may or early weeks of June. I used to be able to dial out on the AirPods without a problem. Now it connects on the side I am dialing to but does not allow me to hear them or talk to them. Even when I just try to disconnect them, the iPhone stays connected to the AirPods even when they are in their case. This prevents me from using the phone in anyway. I usually have to wait a minute or two before the iPhone reverts back to a normal state and I can use the microphone and speaker built into the phone. So it is just getting worse. This tells me they actually do not have any clue what the actual problem is or they would have this fixed by now. It has been 6+ months.

I have the same problem. I have an iPhone XS and AirPods Pro (2nd generation) that are useless.

A visit to the Apple service center didn't help at all! The employees say that there's no possibility to fix this issue.

The consultants keep repeating that the problem will be resolved with the next iOS update.

We all know that's nonsense!!!

Does Apple have any intention to solve this problem?

I haven’t done extensive testing since 16.5.1 but have had 3 successful calls while listening to music 2 times on soundcloud and once on Apple Music. Not sure that many variables have been accounted for but so far all good since the update. I also have 2nd Gen pros and an xs. Will update if I run into the problem again.

I have the latest update on XS 16.5.1 and nothing has changed.

The AirPods Pro gen.2 are unable to receive incoming calls - it doesn't matter if it's a phone call, FaceTime, or apps like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Signal. The AirPods Pro gen.2 are simply useless with iPhone XS, XS Max. I performed multiple tests with 6 iPhones (3x XS and 3x XS Max).
