I suggest you return the AirPods.

Not the answer you want to hear but this is a common issue with XS phones (see link below) and AirPod Pro gen 2 and

There is no timeline for when/if this will be fixed.

One person in below thread said this has *not* been fixed with the iOS 16.3 update.

so far, the only thing that has had any affect at all is to “Erase All Setting” which has reduced the cycle of constantly disconnecting & reconnecting with phone calls.

This does not make sense...

It must be clear answer, works or not. In most cases it does not work for People...

Camera works perfect, there are no reduced issues with Camera after "Erase All Settings"...

Hey Apple, are you there? What's the status of developing a fix?

I am having the same issues since day 1 I have bought AirPods Pro 2. I am using IPhone XS. The issue I a facing is whenever I switch from media to receiving/ dialling calls AirPods Pro 2 will disconnect automatically. Worst part is I have been to the gallery few times to get resolved but the only thing they do is reset the settings which still doesn’t work. They have also changed the AirPods once but this doesn’t work. Apple is not releasing any update to fix this nor is accepting that the issue persists. Feels like I have wasted my money.

So many people have the same issue and Apple does nothing about it. I have an iPhone Xs Max ios 17.2, and brand new airpods pro 2 USB-C latest firmware for the airpods and the case. Today, I had a phone call with Apple Support for 50 min. No result.

I strongly believe it is an issue of the device (iPhone Xs models).

My only hope is that I am going to buy an newer iPhone soon and this issue will be solved.

One the other hand, I want this issue issue to be heard and fixed, if possible.

Exactly. They just shouldn’t write in appstore that iPhone xs max is compatible with airpods pro II and I would not buy them. Thats all. In my opinion its violation and apple should get financial penalty. In my case they were trying to convince me that I can still listen to music so all is ok 🤭 seriously. I said that one of the main function normally is also doing conversations. Finally they offered me some benefit in their shop and I agreed because I was planning to buy new iPhone anyway and knew that this problem will be irrelevant soon. So now I have iPhone 15 pro max and all is ok. I assume there will be no any fixing updates so don’t wait for that guys 🤷‍♂️

Hi, thanks for posting this possible solution.

It has somewhat improved call answering for me—previously I could not successfully answer a call whatsoever—but still it's very slow to make the connection.

The exact same AirPods Pro 2 I've tested on iPhone SE and iPhone 13 Pro, and call answering works perfectly.

My iPhone XS they have never worked at all for call answering, and often "wig out" after the unsuccessful call, needing to be put back in the charging case for a minute to "reset" them before they'll connect to the phone again.
