I don't know why I can't install R. The window shows the installer encountered an error and let me contact the software manufacturer. But I can't find a way to contact R customer service. I guess this might be the installer's problem. The picture below is the screen shot of the description.

I was able to install via the Terminal using:
$ sudo installer -pkg R-4.2.2-arm64.pkg -target /
My solution was to give the installer [full disk access](https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/install-with-pkg-file-failed.2367425/).
Alternatively, the .pkg can be installed via command-line.
