iPhone Hotspot keeps disconnecting

It happens to me as well all the time on the iPhone 13 Pro. Exactly the same - Apple computer - 0 problems, any other computer - non stop problems. I have eventually bought myself modem to solve this issue. I would drop apple altogether but my company is forcing me to use that. This problem is so awfully annoying.

100% YES. This is how it's done. I connect like this every day and I do not ever get disconnected without doing so myself. I use a Local Access Point and connect via bluetooth and my phone functions like it's supposed to, i use it and surf at the same time. No problems.

My Phone 15 pro max turns on then after a little bit it will disconnect back and forth but I have found the only fix’s in to un plug my phone from power it will continue to work the as long as I leave my phone unplugged from power. We have two iPhones and one mifii ho t spot all three do the same thing. So I don’t know what to do.

Just stop using Apple devices as hotspots.

Hi, goto iPhone personal hotspot setting, “disable” for maximum compatibility. Please check and update status if works properly.

THE ONLY WAY TO STAY CONNECTED IS TO GOTO SETTINGS> DISPLAY AND BRIGHTNESS > AUTO-LOCK > SELECT NEVER!!!

THE ONLY SOLUTION THAT WORKS RELIABLY IS TO TURN AUTO-LOCK TO NEVER

THIS WILL KEEP YOUR SCREEN ON AND HOT SPOT WILL REMAIN ACTIVE

I have the same issue with a Lenovo laptop running Fedora Linux. This laptop ran like a champ on my Pixel 4a. Now I am connecting to an iPhone 14 Pro.

This is a dealbreaker for me, and it's telling that one user had success if he connected with a Mac. This smells like too much system integration going on, and too little simple following of standards.

I don't think it's solved by the customer doing a bunch of backflips to get it to work. This sounds like a bug.

you need to connect iphone & window devices with wifi internet connection once. take your devices to where proper office or home or public wifi connection available then connect both the devices with wifi for some time like an hour.

Sometime you can try connect only your iphone with wifi connection. becuase now a days we are all having unlimited mible internet connection. may be some technical issue or software not updated properly. so connect your iphone with wifi connection when ever available.

Then smoothly it will keep connecting iphone and windows laptop by iphone hotspot mobile internet.

Hi all, this is my first post.

1. Has someone confirmed this is not a "bug" in Windows/PC?
2. My disconnections seem to happen when I walk away from the PC, bizarely, maybe my iwatch disconnects with my iPhone 12 and it knows there is no one there?
3. I have tried CMD > ping icloud.com -t and am going to see if that helps to keep the connection alive.

I kept my 12 Pro Max on iOS 16, until last week.

With iOS 17.3 the hotspot disconnects every couple of minutes, independent on whether a macOS, Linux or Windoze device is connected.

The person from Spain (reply on page 1) probably offered the best workaround:

If you can, write a tiny script which keeps the hotspot busy.

I don’t think they built this in intentionally, as I didn’t had any issues with iOS 16, but others had this plague.

Maybe just the usual “bad luck with my Apple equipment” issue :)

I have the same issue ever since I got the iPhone 14. Tried all the steps that literally all pages recommend : reset network settings, change iPhone name, change password, update iOS, reboot - everything.

It is like Kristaps mentions. Hotspot is being turned off on the iPhone itself. Has nothing to do with windows.

Any real help would be appreciated.

Tried all the methods several times. Only windows does not connect to iPhone hotspot. Either this is a bug that they are refusing to fix or this is on purpose to keep people inside the Apple systems. Very disappointing.
