iPhone Hotspot keeps disconnecting

iPhone's made hotspot only works steady with Apple computer. As soon as you use it with any other computer, it keeps randomly disconnecting over and over again. No matter if you keep your screen on or off, phone is in low power mode or not, if you have the latest iPhone or not, etc. It is impossible to do any quality work on your laptop using iPhone's hotspot. It has nothing to do with software updates or anything like that as I am always running the latest version of iOS. I have read on the internet so many threads about this. It is something that Apple just refuses to fix for years. Or does that on purpose.. Whatever the case is - it is absolutely not nice, as it resembles the quality of Apple's products and service. So frustrated and disappointed.....

I have an I phone 13 pro max and was facing this issue! All I did was turned on the hotspot and turned off the option maximize compatibility and connected my hotspot and it works well! Try this and hope it helps all those who are facing this issue.

I have the same issue with a Lenovo laptop running Fedora Linux. This laptop ran like a champ on my Pixel 4a. Now I am connecting to an iPhone 14 Pro.

This is a dealbreaker for me, and it's telling that one user had success if he connected with a Mac. This smells like too much system integration going on, and too little simple following of standards.

I don't think it's solved by the customer doing a bunch of backflips to get it to work. This sounds like a bug.

Best Solutions ::

if iphone keep disconnect hotspot mobile internet with window devices, better to connect laptop or other devices once with wifi internet connections (not iphone internet connection or mobile internet connection).

you need to connect iphone & window devices with wifi internet connection once. take your devices to where proper office or home or public wifi connection available then connect both the devices with wifi for some time like an hour.

Sometime you can try connect only your iphone with wifi connection. becuase now a days we are all having unlimited mible internet connection. may be some technical issue or software not updated properly. so connect your iphone with wifi connection when ever available.

Then smoothly it will keep connecting iphone and windows laptop by iphone hotspot mobile internet.

I kept my 12 Pro Max on iOS 16, until last week.

With iOS 17.3 the hotspot disconnects every couple of minutes, independent on whether a macOS, Linux or Windoze device is connected.

The person from Spain (reply on page 1) probably offered the best workaround:

If you can, write a tiny script which keeps the hotspot busy.

I don’t think they built this in intentionally, as I didn’t had any issues with iOS 16, but others had this plague.

Maybe just the usual “bad luck with my Apple equipment” issue :)

All of this is done. Problem still persists.

I have been researching this issue for a while online before writing here.

If I connect my MacBook Air or iMac to my iPhones hotspot, then it is working fine without any issues, stable and steady.

As soon as the same iPhone is used as a hotspot for any Windows laptop (tried on few), hotspot on iPhone keeps turning it self off on its own. It does not disconnect form laptops side, it gets turned off by iPhone. Meaning - I need to turn on the Hotspot manually on iPhone again. And it is happening over and over again. There are a lot of people with the same issue on forums across internet. But thanks for the reply.

I have the same issue ever since I got the iPhone 14. Tried all the steps that literally all pages recommend : reset network settings, change iPhone name, change password, update iOS, reboot - everything.

It is like Kristaps mentions. Hotspot is being turned off on the iPhone itself. Has nothing to do with windows.

Any real help would be appreciated.
