iPhone Hotspot keeps disconnecting

iPhone's made hotspot only works steady with Apple computer. As soon as you use it with any other computer, it keeps randomly disconnecting over and over again. No matter if you keep your screen on or off, phone is in low power mode or not, if you have the latest iPhone or not, etc. It is impossible to do any quality work on your laptop using iPhone's hotspot. It has nothing to do with software updates or anything like that as I am always running the latest version of iOS. I have read on the internet so many threads about this. It is something that Apple just refuses to fix for years. Or does that on purpose.. Whatever the case is - it is absolutely not nice, as it resembles the quality of Apple's products and service. So frustrated and disappointed.....

iPhone 13 Pro after latest update same issue. This morning I wasn't able to join meeting due to hotspot randomly disconnecting. It was connected to charger all the time, after disconnection did hard restart, reset. Nothing helped!

Also lock screen notifications are still squared for some miliseconds, not rounded right away, seems like a lag.

And guess what iPhone 13Pro without any harsh usage and healthy charging now battery health is 87%.

FOR WHAT ARE WE PAYING Whats the point of releasing new model every year if none of them are working fully ??

Same here. They better can call this "No Support From Apple Community" Of course it's pathetic that nobody of Apple is reading this and helps solving the problem. As a 33 (!) year long Apple user ... it used to be a brand that was user friendly, now it is as pathetic and complicated as ms/dos then and just as autistic and nerdy as Microsoft. When they were a niche brand it was okay. Now they became a money making machine like the rest.

I’m a gamer and heavy on the spectrum and this is happening to me constantly as well and it’s driving me insane. Like literally I am having fits of anger and I have become very unsportsmanlike due to the constant irritation. I’m already pretty high, strong and irritable, but this is putting me over the edge and for the life of me it makes no sense because while the PC will disconnect my tablet or Nintendo switch and the PC is where all my games are. Apple, please do something about this. It’s on your end. It had to be. all my stuff is constantly up-to-date almost religiously.

and honestly, this 13 Pro is just not a good phone. It’s a Bizzarre & small size that I would expect for the regular version but I can’t imagine it being smaller than this, it doesn’t run the newest games smoothly and not without overheating like crazy. And the battery life just keeps getting lower and lower seemingly quick. I’ve only had the thing almost a year and a half and it’s down to 86% battery health. And while I realize that things may get taken out of your store, I thought the arrangement was if you have linked it to your account that you could re-download it forever as long as it will function on the current iOS, and when you guys went back on that I cried and screamed and cursed your name. The biggest kick to the nuts to me though is that I do not want to step verification on my device. It automatically set it to do that and apparently you do not allow us to unset it if it has been several weeks since it was implemented. And yet we did not get a severe warning that you implemented it without our knowledge, and I don’t want it. I feel betrayed by you I’m reconsidering, whether or not I can live without the Apple App Store.

I just switched from a Samsung S22 Ultra and never once had an issue connecting with my hotspot service with Verizon. The moment I switched over to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the hotspot service on this iPhone connects devices but drops internet traffic both on the devices and my iPhone.

totally interrupts my needs, and if I can’t find a resolution I’m going to switch back to Samsung. Seems this has been an ongoing issue with no clear path to a resolution.

Yes, I covered all the support steps, only to still continue to be told that it’s a cell provider issue, but I promise when I slip a SIM card into my S22 ultra, issues are gone.

Best Solutions ::

Option 1,

if iphone keep disconnect hotspot mobile internet with window devices, better to connect laptop or other devices once with wifi internet connections (not iphone/android internet connection or mobile internet connection).

you need to connect iphone & window devices with wifi internet connection once. take your devices to where proper office or home or public wifi connection available then connect both the devices with wifi for some time like an hour.

Option 2:

Sometime you can try connect only your iphone with wifi connection. becuase now a days we are all having unlimited mible internet connection. may be some technical issue or software not updated properly. so connect your iphone on wifi connection when ever available. still this not work follow option 1 steps mentioned above.

Then smoothly it will keep connecting iphone and windows laptop by iphone hotspot mobile internet.

I have both windows, linux and mac. If I connect via mac. Hotspot works flawless. If I connect via windows or ubuntu, iphone turns off the hotspot constantly. I had to on and off again. I am joining to a meeting and 20 minutes later just kicks me off from the internet. I am having the problem for years. I am pretty sure this is not a bug or something else. You are working with top tier developers in the world. This is an intentional feature. But you know what. People don't get an mac just because you cut their internet. I knew people working as nomad. They switched to android just because of this problem..

I also updated to 17.1.1. ... The situation seems to have improved dramatically...

I'm not sure if this is due to Apple's update or my provider (T-Mobile) fixing some issues....

No more unexplained interruptions... Some glitches still do occur on my AppleTV which sometimes "forgets" it's connected to my AppleID for HomeSharing, until I open the iPhone's settings about the personal hotspot, which seems to instantly restore connectivity...

It's currently Voodoo...

I have the same problem with my iPhone 11 and I have the latest iOS . This is Apple problem the company has design the phone to work the hotspot only if you have your screen on then it is working fine. But if you turn off your screen hotspot turns also off . And it doesn’t matter if you left your switch on … I hope apple fix this problem in the near future because I have face it since iOS 8 released. Also disappointed… the android in this point is better and the hotspot is always on .

Some times itabhas to do with IPv6.

use IPv4 in stead.

for example this horspot problem:

If you cannot connect to TOMTOM Live services, review your APN mobile provider settings, using "Portalmmm.nl" for IPv4 compatibility, especially with carriers like KPN in the Netherlands. If you're using TOMTOM Live services with a Bluetooth connection, ensure your APN settings are configured correctly, as IPv6 settings like "internet" may impede connectivity.

I'm really annoyed with how things are during vacation times:

You or your buddy get a tourist SIM card, but sharing your data with others (even other iPhone users!) is a pain. The connection just dies the second the host or hotspot's screen turns off. It's like Apple is forcing everyone to buy their own SIM card or carry an extra device just to share Wi-Fi properly. This problem has been around for ages, and it's just stupid and super irritating.

Apple, why make things so uncomfortable for users? Just add a simple switch, or let us pick devices we're okay sharing our data and battery with.

Every time this happens, I think more seriously about switching to an Android phone. Considering how Apple's falling behind its competitors, this idea seems smarter every year.

UGH.. I've checked & applied all the suggestions (latest IOS update software, etc). I have an iphone 13 + new macbook air - both are less than a year old.

The D-mn thing keeps disconnecting... every 2-3 minutes. I'm only trying to connect apples to apples - no oranges here lol (no android, PC , etc.. pure, 100% brand new apple gear)

I wish I could say this has been my only problem, but I have an issue with Apple the company now. It seems they've lost their core mission of making USER-FRIENDLY DEVICES.

During a recent update, for instance, my alarm was switched from the loudest/most alarming one (which I need in order to wake up) to the default one - which failed to wake me ! Ironically, the next day I sat to meditate & switched phone to "Silent mode" , it let a call come thru - full blast, ring tone & all!! ... So when I needed the phone to alert & awake me, it failed & when I needed it to be quiet - it failed too. Wonderful, this "smart device" has done little more than raise my blood pressure.

There are many more unresolved issues as well. I've contacted Apple help multiple times & have been to the genius bar with no improvements. I've had numerous apple devices without issues, what the heck has happened!?!?

APPLE, PLEASE GET BACK TO WHAT HAS DRAWN MYSELF & MANY OTHERS TO YOUR PRODUCTS - namely that they work, preferably in a user-friendly fashion!
