If you have a work email account on your phone it can have restrictions. Just the presence of a work email account gives your IT department control of security features on your phone.
As a check, go to Settings/General/VPN & Device Management. Do you see a profile for your work email?
I am not find touch id passcode in my phones setting. probably it has been missing.

No restrictions enabled still my IPad doesn't show the option for FaceID
The only option available is Touch ID & Passcode
This did nothing for me. There are no restrictions on either of my devices. There are both forcing me to use a full password instead of a digital code
MyMDM requires an ‘alpha numerical’ passcode, but the ability to unlock my phone in that manner disappeared when our ‘help desk’ had me do a factory reset
How do you get face id
You buy a phone that has Face ID. That means an iPhone X, Xr, Xs, 11, 12, 13, or 14 series.

@Lawrence, can that also be the case for a new iPad mini? Tried all the suggestions in the thread with the exception of shutting off the family connection of devices.
If parental controls are enabled then the family organizer can disable changing the passcode. That would have to be set, it isn’t a default.
Omg - i tried for days to fix this bc it wasn’t working on the new phone - and your answer helped in a minute - bc every other search just told me it was in the menu - thanks so much
