CarPlay not working properly after iOS update?

Updated to iOS 17.5.1 this morning. Apple CarPlay no longer works in my 2017 VW Alltrack. When I attach my phone to the lightning cord per usual, my car doesn't recognize the attached device. I don't have a VPN. It WILL play music via BT, but GPS is spotty. Naturally, I need Maps to function because I have surgery tomorrow out-of-town.

Go to a Car radio installer, get them to check your system is updated properly, and if so, they may have a new wire connection cord to enable the connection to Apple CarPlay.

Passcode? Do I have one? Where do I get it?

A new idea to try, after all the usual nonsense resets that I've tried and tried again... thank you for taking the time to post this... I will give this idea a go!

I think they messed up the connection and use with nanny software.

2024 chevy, hook apple car play up and it drops radio stations, 3 new radio's, did it to my loaner vehicle also, after 10 visits , chevy has no answer ,turn carplay off and radio works fine.
