Apple Watch battery drain

the battery on my apple watch (series 8), purchased in late march, suddenly drains much quicker. i've only had it for a little over a month and i didn't change any settings so this is quite baffling to me.

any idea what is going on?

thanks!

Make sure to turn off background app refresh and  check walkie talkie is not accidentally turned on.

Check there is no workout running (yellow circle at top if screen.)

Make sure you have no VPN or VPN based ad-blocker on the iphone. Uninstall it then remove any profiles (iPhone Settings, General VPN & Device Management)

Force restart your watch i.e. press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.

Then while the Watch is restarting Force Restart the paired iphone   Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

Try it for a couple of days especially if you sync photos to your Watch.

If the battery still drains  then Unpair the watch and then pair it again.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch – Apple Support (UK)

Something else is going on here. This battery draining started happening all of a sudden to me as well with no change in my usage patterns but after the last update. It was a series 7 so I figured it was time to upgrade anyway. I bought a series 9 yesterday, set it up and the battery is draining in a matter of like 3 hours. This has to be a software issue. I did the remedies above even though I shouldn’t have to on a new watch. They do not work. Please help.

I have the same issue. I am a "Routine Guy". Never change, always do the same. Recharge watch before going to bed, sleep in it. Exercise 3-4 times a week. Nothing else, but standard notifications. At night I used to have still 40-50% charge, every day. Now it is hardly enough for a full day. I did not change anything in my routine, nor in the setting of my watch. I have Apple watch Series 9 Stainless Steel. I paid a lot for it. I cannot even use a full day out of it safely now. What's going on Apple?!

The reason why I am with Apple is actually mostly due to my Watch. If you do not fix this, it will be worth for me to change to Tag Heuer watch, with Android phone, Android iPad, windows laptop...etc. And I will be very loud about it for my million followers on Instagram, and Facebook.

No more Apple BS. Fix it, please, ASAP. Totally ruining my user experience, and brand satisfaction.
