Unstable network - iPhone 11 (maxis)

Hi. recently my iPhone 11 got internet connection problem. the internet always got Egde and sometime shown 4G but no internet connection. My telco in maxis. Whenever i contacted customer service Maxis, they said they received so many reports regarding on the same problem which is from iPhone 11 users. So, this issue obviously is related to software compatibility, not the telco. Some said iPhone 11 does not support 5G.

Anyone got the same problem?

I have had the same issue for 2 months. Maxis does not have a solution for the problem.

I tested with Celcom sim on the same phone and it works fine.

After many calls with Maxis, the only solution to this issue is to switch from Maxis to Celcom.

I am also facing the same thing. I have contacted Maxis and they have mentioned that they have been receiving similar complaints about this problem from iphone11 users, since March 2023.

For me, this problem happens around 2 weeks after getting this phone, and I am using Maxis Postpaid plan, which was just recently upgraded one week after I bought the phone. I used prepaid before, and I don’t remember having the problem with mobile data connectivity during that one week. I am not too sure if the switching in phone plan is causing the problem, but when I switch my SIM card to another iPhone and android phone it seems to be working fine.

I’ve reached out to Apple Support and their SG cc called me back (since I seem to be unable to get ahold of the cc in Malaysia). They’ve done the diagnostic remotely and didn’t find any problem with the hardware, so all they are suggesting now is to go to Maxis and get a new SIM card or switch to eSim. The thing is, the SIM card works fine in other phone, and when I tried another SIM card in my phone, the signal seems to be problematic again. I am not sure if I should try to switch to eSim as they suggested, or if I should just wait this out. It’s so frustrating, when you are out and about and needed internet connection. I hope Apple look into this more seriously.

Chieera ~ Two years is the age when an iPhone battery begins to weaken due to recharging cycles and cause "connection issues"...

Does your iPhone 11 still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

I came across this issue with my iPhone 11 on (3rd July 2023) morning, did everything I could to remedy the issue but to no avail (soft resetting my phone, toggling airplane mode, ejecting my sim). I called up Maxis who's customer service told me that many iPhone 11 users currently using Maxis has this issue, and that it was rare of me to be experiencing network errors this late. He began walking me through a "temporary fix" until Maxis releases their 5G SIM cards in the next 2 months, or so he claims. The temporary fix didn't work, therefore he directed me to Malaysia's apple support number. I tried staying on the line but it took too long, probably from all the iPhone 11 users.. I ended up not speaking to any representatives, am currently STILL waiting on a software update.

I did receive the advisor call back on the day after and told him my experiment result, he asked my to send a report via my phone and spotted out my battery status appear "service", he suggested I send my phone to service battery first, so I sent my phone after 2 days from that..

This is the report I received after I leave my phone to the service center.

They think is my mother board problem, well, and u can see the cost and u also can see I m using another not apple phone right now. Really disappointed by this issue.

If Ur Mother Board Failed after 3yrs using of the client, U Don't Take Any Responsible for that??

Ya we can change phone, but what I see is ur failing product and the way u "solve" it actually cause very negative result to our environment.

lalanima ~ With an older model such as the iPhone 11, an often overlooked cause of problems can be a weak, aging battery...

Same story. I bought iphone 11 around 2 years ago. and the network issue I have had since August.

I bought local sim cards in Singapore and Cambodia. Same story.

It is definitely not a carrier.

I have a feeling that it is happening with 5G deployment. For Malaysia it was somewhere starting from May 2023.

Feels like a new mobile hardware/antenna which supports 5G, and at the same time it can transmit 4G in some sort of a compatibility mode, simply just does not compatible with Iphone11.

Very sad.

Will be traveling to Russia soon, let's see how it going to work there. Hope I can sell it.

we have the same problem since early July. Called maxis and we have done network resetting, changed new sim and was told the issue was caused by Apple.

Called Apple and done diagnostic test but Apple was saying the device is fine from the test.

so what should we do now ? thinking to change to other provider like celcom or digi but some said it will be the same problem.

:((((

Extremely disappointed with apple at this point! Have tried everything - calling apple care, my telco company, resetting network settings, switching telos... nothing worked!! Apparently many iphone 11 users have this problem now! I got so upset that I actually bought a new S****ng phone. Problem was immediately solved. Apple, shame on you! You lost a customer.

Hi, got the same problem here. Been to a few repair shops, all said my iphone 11 is working good. Tried different sim umobile, digi and celcom but the results still the same. At some point the connection will turn from 4g to Edge and eventually will get “no service” sometimes “searching…”

Let me know if anyone got any solution to this. Still waiting on software update incase that is the problem, currently downloading 17.0.3
