Backup No Longer Working Ove Xfinity Wi-Fi - Getting "Poor Network Conditions" Error Message

I can no longer backup over Xfinity Wi-Fi. I've reset the network settings, reset the modem, and even got a new Xfinity modem. I keep getting an error message saying "The last backup could not be completed because of poor network conditions". The network conditions are not poor.

This started with getting a new gateway from Xfinity and the upgrade is it now has IPV6 with IPV4. The issue is not all IOS processes are IPV6 compatible and there is no way to disable IPV6 on Xfinity. The only work around is to get your own router that has this function and disable it until IOS does the update. This sucks but there’s no other way. 😔

I am also having this same issue. My phone gave me notice that it hasn’t updated in 2 weeks. I also notice when downloading over 200 mb it acts like I am not even on Wi-Fi. I just did a power cycle and it worked when I did a manual back up and tried it a few minutes later and is not working again. It’s Xfinity for sure. Since this last update on modem.

We have multiple Apple iPhones and iPads in the house with a Comcast Internet connection (1G). All of them are reporting poor network connections when doing an Apple iCloud backup and an IOS update. Random apps are reporting no Internet connection. I have no problems connecting and using PCs running Windows 10 and Windows 11. Has anyone tried reporting the problem directly to Comcast/Xfinity. The problems seem to have started earlier in July but randomly the backups might work.

I had an unbelievably worthless interaction with Xfiniity on Reddit using the modmail thing. After I explained everything that was going on, everything I had tried, etc. she says is it a good time for me to restart your modem? I said no, one I am using it right now and two your tech restarted this morning while I was on the phone with him. So then she says I am on the latest firmware and asks if I have contacted Apple about the issue. Unbelievable. You broke your best router by pushing out a firmware update two months ago and now it is hit or miss at best that your own employees have an awareness of the issue. If someone actually had success with someone on Reddit I am all ears as to their name so that I can direct message them.
