Backup No Longer Working Ove Xfinity Wi-Fi - Getting "Poor Network Conditions" Error Message

I can no longer backup over Xfinity Wi-Fi. I've reset the network settings, reset the modem, and even got a new Xfinity modem. I keep getting an error message saying "The last backup could not be completed because of poor network conditions". The network conditions are not poor.

This started with getting a new gateway from Xfinity and the upgrade is it now has IPV6 with IPV4. The issue is not all IOS processes are IPV6 compatible and there is no way to disable IPV6 on Xfinity. The only work around is to get your own router that has this function and disable it until IOS does the update. This sucks but there’s no other way. 😔

He actually said he has not heard of issue as of yet

He also gave me his number to call if I had issues- but he felt strongly this would resolve for now. Earlier last week I did copy this link to upper executives and did receive a call- and kept my ticket opened

By now they have to know there is a major issue

I can only hope it’s sooner than later for all our sanity. It’s absolutely unacceptable

I haven't seen any new comments here for a while. Well, after thinking that only my iPad Mini5 was having issues connecting, I just noticed that ALL of my Apple devices - iPhone14 Pro, 9th Gen iPad and Mini 5 are unable to download update 16.6 All have the "requires a Wi-fi connection to work" message.

Anyone have any updates or further communications with Xfinity?

senior tech did spilt my modem / 2.4 and 5 there is a 6 but I don’t use that one - most device on 2.4

My iPad is on 2.4 - but seems I have to always do manual backup- and iCloud backups are on

my husbands iPhone 12 sound back ups - my iPhone 11 Pro did but some I had to do manually

I was able to do 16. 6 updates

Do you think we need to call directly and have them turn it off? Or if all working fine leave for now?

Sorry the 6ghz toggle didn't work, Joan, thanks for letting us know. I just saw that my phone backed up on its own last night. There is a toggle on iCloud backup that allows it to use cellular data, which I have switched on. Usually, my cell coverage is crummy, one bar, but maybe last night was a good night and there was enough juice to back up over cellular. It is a mystery. My iPads are wifi only, and there's been no backup since the last time I did it via ethernet.

Xfinity Tech Support is coming out on Sunday. We’ll see what they can do. I don’t want my router split…

Funny how clueless they are. They had no notes of my call from the previous day and 5 minutes after the appointment was made, I got a call letting me know that they had checked and saw “no problem” with my router. Then the tech said she would fix it by phone without any understanding of what the problem was. She wanted me to power cycle the Gateway, which the previous tech had already done. She finally decided it was a valid issue for a service call.
