Backup No Longer Working Ove Xfinity Wi-Fi - Getting "Poor Network Conditions" Error Message

I can no longer backup over Xfinity Wi-Fi. I've reset the network settings, reset the modem, and even got a new Xfinity modem. I keep getting an error message saying "The last backup could not be completed because of poor network conditions". The network conditions are not poor.

This started with getting a new gateway from Xfinity and the upgrade is it now has IPV6 with IPV4. The issue is not all IOS processes are IPV6 compatible and there is no way to disable IPV6 on Xfinity. The only work around is to get your own router that has this function and disable it until IOS does the update. This sucks but there’s no other way. 😔

As follow-up, I just got a call from Gabriel in Adv Tech. He wanted to check and make sure that all of my devices were working properly. They are right now. We chatted a while about the discovery process and Xfinity's CS and response.

He says that his understanding is that they have updated a number of Gateways that came to their attention, and are now checking back for results. He expects that if all is working over the next few days, there will be a wider roll-out of the upgrade. Also said that one of the delays is that they haven't heard back/been able to contact all who were upgraded to confirm results.

He gave me the ticket# for my account, and asked me to call if there are further issues.

I actually JUST talked to Xfinity and scheduled for a Senior Technician to come out - rep admitted and can see my devices only working off one and not dual - this most likely is the issue - he said even at his home certain smart tv's and devices work better on 2.4 or 5 - I was not backing down and requested no one but a Senior Tech

I will keep you all posted for sure....fingers crossed - appt is Wednesday 7/19

I had a senior technician come out today and he split router my 2.4 and 5 - he did backups on his phone, my phone and iPad - iPad is now showing online ( prior it was not) Fingers crossed this works moving forward - sort of nervous because Xfinity doing network upgrades in my area 1:00am - 6:00

all this I have ( like all of us) has wasted endless hours on this … totally exhausted
