mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe

Have had the charger for just over a month now and plugged in and not moved for a couple of weeks and had been working fine. It now won’t charge my watch and keeps pinging on and off non stop and it’s hit and miss with my phone too. I have tried different cables and plugs with the same result.

I have had the same issue for the past few days and thought I was going crazy. I tried to request a replacement through their site, but I am getting the message, "This product is no longer available. Please contact customer care for options."

The contact form is hidden. I submitted a ticket but have not received a ticket number or anything. Any ideas? I feel that I gave away £169 to Morphie. What is Apple's official response to their partner for a product sold exclusively in Apple Stores? Can I return it to the Apple Store and request a refund or a replacement?

I just went to my local Apple Store and Apple confirmed they have recalled the Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger and gave me a full refund on the spot, no questions asked. BTW, I got it as a Christmas present and it was purchased December 01 2022 and I had the receipt.

FYI, I had earlier received the same email last week from Zagg (Mophie) copied below:

"I would like to follow up on the issue you recently reported.

We are aware of an issue with our mophie 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe which can cause intermittent charging with your device.

After investigating further, we have identified the issue and will release a firmware update as soon as possible.

We will resolve this issue and will keep you informed once further information is available.

Thank you for your patience and we are sorry for the inconvenience.

All the best"

OK, So I'm in the UK, I just contacted Apple Support on 0800 048 0408.

Initially they didn't know anything about any recall or problem with the item and offered to replace it. I explained that they have all stopped working and told him about the chat on here and that some people have already had refunds.

He had to take it to a higher level but eventually came back to me and agreed that I can return it for a refund. They're sending me labels to print out and I can take it to a drop off point or a courier will come to collect it. I should receive the refund back to my card in 3-5 days. He also asked for the details of this chat so that he can look into it further.

As I said, I'm in the UK, so I don't know if it will be the same in other countries.

After far too many hours spent in chat with various CS reps that either didn’t know about the charger getting pulled, the last one directed me to book an appointment with a genius at the nearest store despite having bought the charger online.

I honestly was not expecting much at this point, I showed up with the charger and a copy of the receipt, explained my case again and the genius escalated to their manager and had the refund authorized.

I am both happy Apple Store employees are this efficient and that I’m finally done with this mophie charger for good.

This took place at the downtown store in Montreal (Canada), the issue is known and the refund procedure for it is duly applied. Props to them again.

I went to the Apple Store yesterday with both my defective units hoping to return them. Instead they had replacements units in stock with the new firmware. They confirmed these new units were sent from Mophie directly with the updated firmware. Apparently the Rep I spoke with said they were briefed that morning on these units. Let’s hope for the best.

They did a return on my 11 month old units and purchase of the new ones. So I now have another 2 year warranty on these. Hoping I don’t have any issues as these are used daily at home but GREAT for traveling. My recent trip required me and my wife to use a bunch of cables since my Mophie’s were unusable. Didn’t want to buy any new charges until I knew what I was doing with the Mophies.
