The power button on my apple tv remote keeps falling out. What can I do to fix it? I just recently purchased it.
there is not much details; when I pick the remote and have it any other way than right side up, the power button falls out.

If it’s new then it would be under warranty so unless they judged it was damaged by user handling they should replace it Legal - Hardware Warranties - Apple

Though the button popped out, it should still work when you put it back on the remote. Get a $10 remote case from Amazon with a power button cover. Now the button is put in place, locked within the case.

I bought the case from Amazon for $9.99 and it does a great job keeping the button in place. Actually might be a little easier to click the button with the case. Definitely a design flaw that Apple should fix and be responsible for but the case solution fixes the problem for not much trouble.
Great tip on getting the case from Amazon. My power button fell out today and noticed it when I want to watch the end of a football game. Couldn't find the button but Discovered that you can press down on the button hole with a pencil eraser to turn on or off. Found the button after a bit of search and put it back in the remote. Ordered an electric blue case so won't have to have to buy a new remote. Your link went to a version of the case with a magnet $12.99. I got the one without the magnet for $9.99. Again,
I covered it with tape so it won't fall off again. Not pretty but seems to work well.
(Thanks Reddit for the solution)
Yes, same here! It's a terrible issue and I hope that Apple fixes this soon. In the meantime, other users have recommended a remote case/cover that is sold on Amazon. This covers the power key, but allows it to work in the same way. I just purchased one myself from this link: AppleTV remote control case/cover - from Amazon Good luck!
Don't waste your time going for a visit - there is no replacement unless you are within whatever limited warranty period you have or you paid extra for an extended warranty. You will waste time driving to the store, waiting only to be told as others have said a $60 replacement cost for a faulty unit
I wish the 3D printed solution was available as teased by another poster but that will require searching elsewhere
MEanwhile, purchase the Amazon cover should do it for a fraction of the $60
Great idea! Although I think Apple needs to replace this. The button just popped out of mine this morning.
It’s great that you can stick the actual button back in and it works but… what if it falls out and you can’t find it? $59.00 to Apple for a new one. This needs a definite redesign. Mine wasn’t very old and has been in a silicone case since it was new. Very disappointing. I just hope my grandchild doesn’t find it and swallow it. Wonder if the other buttons are similar choking hazards.
I bought a new 4K Apple TV several months back. The power button just fell out of the remote and burrowed between the cushions of the sofa. Took me a long time to find the tiny thing. There is _obviously_ a design flaw. The remote has had an easy life, never abused. I don't know what could have broken the button. I don't really want to get a microscope out to examine the hole, but my guess is that a really really tiny plastic tab broke that was holding the button on. Now it just falls out if the remote isn't kept completely horizontal. This is a big pain. It's very surprising that Apple would ship something so flimsy. They need to come up with a fix.
My button fell off as I picked the remote, no fall scratch or damage on the remote. This is an all Aluminum remote with USB C. Went to the service centre and the said have to pay about $15 for getting a new replacement remote thanks to me AC+. But sheer nonsense, this looks like a serious design flaw and customers being taken for a ride
So cheap and same thing happened here. I decided to just use app remote on iPad. I tried to glue it back but looks like hard to glue steel to steel. I’m not taping it or putting it in silicone case because that defeats purpose of getting this which is nice aluminum feel of remote. Otherwise, I’ll just use Roku and its cheap plastic remote.
My fell out, and can’t find it. Was not rough with it etc. Really bad design,, I think my days of Apple purchases are coming to a close…. I really can’t see spending 59.00 for a button design issue, and have it fall out again.
I encountered the exact same issue. There is a simple, free solution to fix this that involves 3D printing. I won't be more specific because each time I tried my submission was deleted for Terms and conditions infringement. I hope this one will make the cut.
The power button fell out on my Apple TV remote after 14 months of use, but luckily I had a second remote from my previous Apple TV (that failed at 13 months) and now, 2 weeks later, the power button fell out of it.
Apple TV is the worst product Apple has ever produced.
