iOS 17 gray call screen

I'm sure that I am not the only one. After the IOS 17 update was shocked to see that horrible gray call screen. Who in the technical department decided that was a good idea? and also moving all the buttons to the bottom of the screen. Certainly is vey ugly as far a I'm concerned. I know there's no fix for it here, just getting it of my chest.

As I said the call screen has always been black, incoming or outgoing calls. Now with IOS 17 the call screen is an ugly gray color, with all the buttons that used to be in the middle now moved to the bottom. I'm not even sure if apple now why? I put in a request to apple support and was booked for a midday callback, that was 3 days ago.

It is horrible. Hard to read outdoors. May be going back to Android

If you think Android is without its issues and is a better option for you, by all means buy an Android. This is a user to user only forum and it doesn't matter to any of us what device you think best meets your needs.

iOS 17.1.1 contacts have option to colorize individual contact background and photo. Horrible looking, very hard to read. Need option to back up from update.

You cannot go backwards to a previous iOS version

Both of you should provide feedback to Apple, where it will actually be read by them, as opposed to this user to user only forum, where Apple doesn't participate --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

You know if I owned a software company (which I do by the way), and any forum at all (whether run by my company or not) was blowing up with posts about discontent for one of our design decisions, I would be all over it as a source of valuable marketing and development information. But I take Lobster at his word that the Apple design and development staff have absolutely no interest in what is said here, no matter how heartfelt or how many tens of thousands of people are viewing these posts (as revealed by the view count before this thread was seemingly taken out of search results). So I agree with Lobster 100% you should also be sure to send your feedback through official channels: Feedback - iPhone - Apple. Just keep your comments constructive and sincere and surely Apple will care enough to listen.

Apple explicitly set up this site for Apple users to help other Apple users, not to monitor it for feedback, which is why they have a site just for that (along with Apple Support, of course).

They monitor for violations of the forum rules and other forbidden content, but that's pretty much it.

Finally, out of the many millions of iOS 17 users, and given decades of being here, I wouldn't call the complaints about this issue "blowing up" at all.

Certainly I understand if you don't like it, and that's why I urge those who agree to let Apple know somewhere where they will read your complaints:

I'm sure there are plenty of people in this thread, on this user to user only forum, who agree with you. None of them can take your or anyone's else's feedback to change anything back. Apple isn't here, nor do they participate here. You might have known that if you read past the first post, which you evidently didn't do.

If I needed an android phone I could have got an android one not an iPhone that looks like android! The worst decision ever from developers at apple! Please switch us back to the old one that we used to since several years now…. Apple is Apple not orange or pear or a banana for that matter! It’s an iconic brand and a stature symbol! It’s serious…

As this is a user to user only forum, asking us to switch anything back will get you nothing.

Please change this back to pre-iOS 17. The new version is absolutely ridiculous. It feels like I've pushed a wrong button and it shifted me from a phone call to a FaceTime Call. Just senseless UI/UX.

You aren't speaking with Apple as this is a user to user only forum. Asking other users to change anything, will get you nothing.

This change has been a disaster for anyone with sight issues. The gray/pink background with faded buttons is virtually unrecognizable to my mother. To compound it, you moved the buttons around just for the fun of it??? What in the world were the developers thinking? To say a “fix” is to update every contact individually is ridiculous! This is a safety issue! My 90 year old mother who has poor eyesight is literally without a usable phone due to this!

We weren't thinking anything because you aren't addressing anyone from Apple on this user to user only forum. No one from Apple is here and no one from Apple will see or respond to your post.
