AirPods not connecting to iPhone after updating to iOS 17

I would be checking through your web browsers page if they're phasing out the first generation as the whole of the apple community aren't IN THE COMMUNITY! I'd do that to search the world because It sounds to me like they are phasing the 1st generation iPods out of circulation, if this many people are having problems with connection then it sounds like its only a matter of time before you have to replace them, that's the new problem with technology, they're making things so that they will only last so long for people that are keeping up with the upgrades, so they have to buy newer generation devices, you can't just have something and be happy with them, there's a never ending upgrade attached to certain peoples lives, especially the ones that rely on them professionally too! It is sad that its all come to this but all the best tech companies out there are in the same band wagon too, it all just depends on if you're happy to get the brands that aren't high enough with the specifications or not! hope this helps, and I hope they aren't phasing them out but just in case they are, at least you have a warning ahead of time! stay safe and I hope everyone reading this is ok and also stays safe! This is why governments get involved and regulate these companies. I look forward to them locked Apple down. How can you break a feature and not allow us to roll the update back? I will be complaining to my representatives.

I still have the same issue. I spent $10 for my airpods to be checked and they diagnosed it for replacement. Its like buying another set of airpods which is a crap idea.

I hope the next update will fix this. I tried calling apple support thrice but they still dont consider this as a bug. I hope all users should raised this for it to be fixed.

Airports 2 2nd generation connection issues with iPhone 13 pro max

it suddenly no sound with all functions working properly as play, stop,...

it must be disconnected and reconnecting to hear the sounds again!!

Updated to 17.1 yesterday, ever hopeful for a fix of this glaring fail. What a fool I was. Airpods pro 2 heroically connected once, right after the installation ended and within a minute disconnected. Further attempts for pairing were all unsuccesfull, rendering these $250 headphones a rather expensive and less effective form of ear plugs.

Goddamnit, Apple. Dropped the ball quite badly.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my AirPods 3rd Gen on my iPhone14- Pro. I'm currently running iOS 17.1. However, they are pairing with my friend's iPhone 8 Plus. I hope you will fix this issue soon. We are very disappointed at this time because my phone is always stuck or freez after updation with iOS 17. :(

I have the same problem also and the Apple customer service rep said they’ve had no complaints regarding the loss of AirPods with the new software or any subsequent patches in the iOS 16. How can Customer Service deny this when there are so many comments here on this board?

I’ve been experiencing the same exact thing. Ever since iOS 17 came, my 3rd generation AirPods do not connect to my iPhone 13 well. My right AirPod is not connecting at all. I managed to reconnect them, and the right one stopped working. Nothing wrong with them. I am kinda regretting downloading the new iOS. I have had other glitchy issues with it.

Powerbeats pro with iPhone 13 having same issue. Especially when making a call. It doesn’t necessarily disconnect but no one can hear me and I can’t hear anything. I have to tap speaker or iPhone for sound and then tap on the beats headphones again. Is really affecting work calls in a bad way. Super disappointed. Also calls are barely going through

my airpods (gen 3) keep disconnecting from my phone and when i try to forget them and then

re-pair them they do not reconnect without a serious hassle and then once i got them connected only my right airpod is working. my phone acts like the left airpod doesn’t even exist

I am having a problem with transparency mode not being able to work in both AirPods simultaneously. I was using them for my hearing loss. Alas, I’m not back to missing conversations and what people are saying. iOS 17.2, no change

I bought a 3.5mm to lightning cable with my AirPods Max in case the Bluetooth was lagging for video editing.

I tried connecting it to my M1 MacBook Air and they appear in the sound settings but no sound is coming from the headphones themselves.

Really bizarre…

I also tried toggling off Automatic Head Detection.

Soft Reset.

Forget Device and connect again.

AirPods Max are connecting but again - no sound.

Apple this is not something a company like yourself should allow to happen.

Please fix it ASAP!

We paid a considerable sum of money and expect this beautiful product to work for more than a few years!

Still an issue with the AirPods and hearing aides.

However, it may be a larger problem as iOS 17 is having issues with Bluetooth service requests in general. I’m sure Apple will remedy this in an upcoming security update .

Same thing is happening to me. Just purchased the iphone 14 plus and updated to ios 17. 3rd gen airpods aren’t discoverable via bluetooth on the phone, or via my macbook pro. Could be a firmware issue but they were working perfectly before 🤷‍♀️

Hello everyone, not the same problem but my airpods 3rd gen acting weird, right ear not working at all, after reset i can't connect the case to any other device even if the light is white blinking, not working with iphone SE2020 (ios 17) nor iphone SE2022 (ios 17) nor macbook M2 2022 (sonoma)
