iPhone 15 Pro Max Wi-Fi Issues

I Hope apple or others can help me out - I’m having issues with WiFi on the IPhone 15 Pro Max

myself and others are having issues with using WiFi and 160hz - many have raised issues on Reddit posts - some cannot connect to there WiFi at all and others can connect like myself but have random issues with no internet from time to time

Mines working on 5GHz 160hz, but sometimes I’ll just have no internet connection (it’s still connected to the WiFi) - I have to disconnect from the WiFi and connect again for it to work.

I’m using ASUS RT-AX82U - 5GHz allowed Upto 160hz - I’m running 1gig internet so last thing I want to do is try running at 80hz as I’ll loose speed

When it does work it works great 😊

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP APPLE

I've got a fix!!! This was frustrating me to no end. Went to Apple store and talked with one of the experienced techs. He said the issue is the iPhone when you import from an old iPhone imports non-ideal network settings, not just your old iPhone passwords. Fix is below.

Network -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset Network Settings

Wifi has been working like a charm since I did this. Read about this for hours and never saw this suggested anywhere else so figured I'd contribute.

I have an AX88U and have never had this issue with any other device other than this iPhone 15 pro max. I wonder if this is fixable with a software update at all or if it's a problem with the wifi/baseband chip. Has anyone actually resolved the issue? I have checked around other places on the internet to no avail (and I see you have been other places as well so thank you for the effort to highlight this problem).

This is really disappointing and quite ridiculous. My internet provider router does not allow for customized settings--i have wifi on two bands 2.4GHz and 5GHz. There is not "smart control," no option to select 20/40/80hz (which is the default on the 5Ghz).

I have reboot the router, reboot the phone, reset network settings, and am still having this problem. The wifi will connect, but it will be weaker, and eventually drop off. I'm not having this problem with my MacBook's wifi connection. This is very frustrating.

I already did that and it did work - but my issue was that the speed wasn't as fast as it should be on the 160mHz band. I was trying to see if the issue was specific to 160mHz processing or if it was related to the wider band (5gHz vs 6gHz etc). I still think that since it does 160Hz on the 6gHz band that the disfunction on the 5gHz band on 160 is likely software related. What do you think, Fozzy?

I am having the same problem with iPhone 15 Pro Max. The thing is that when I go to Contol Panel, it shows that the network is connected. When I go to settings⏩wi-fi, it shows that the 📞 is connected. However, the wireless symbol does not appear on the upper right of the 📞. This has never happened with previous phones. In addition, all other devices are working properly on the network.

Another issue that I hope that someone can help me with is the constant popup on my iPad to connect it to wi-fi calling. When I try to activate, it doesn't work. I powered both the iPhone and withe iPad Pro off and on and reset network settings, and none of it worked. I finally turned off wi-fi calling on the new 📞, and I am still getting the annoying popup.

For me, the issue seems coming from 2.4G 40MHz.

When turned on 2.4G with 40MHz, with in a day, the phone would having problem connecting to it. If connected manually, it would say password incorrect or unable to join, unless you stayed very close to the router, it then could connect normally. It's like this phone will drop to 1/3 the range on 2.4G 40MHz after like a day.

2.4G 20MHz and 5G works fine for me, for now...

I have two iphone 15 pro max, they have the same issue. All my other wifi devices work perfectly on any band and after no matter how long.

I have the same problem as well. My iPhone 15 pro max loses Wi-Fi connection. And I use apple Wi-Fi routers. And I am literally 3 feet from the router and still I lose the connection. My iPhone 11 Pro Max still works with Wi-Fi even up to 100 feet away from my apple router. So something with iPhone 15 pro max hardware or hardware/software combination causes the signal dropouts.

I’d like to add something, I’m having the same issue with my Xfinity WiFi, something I’ve observed is that when I look at connected devices through the Xfinity app, the iPhone 15 Pro only shows up as “Apple Device” and with a generic picture and it can’t extract anymore information from it such as iOS version etc. whereas my iPhone 14 Pro shows up with the phone icon and proper name and it can extract all the information such as version/connection type, also when I do the troubleshoot test on the app, it says that it is only able to do a “basic connection”.

Having the same issue as many others. Posting here to see if they are similar...New 15 pro max- just received yesterday (10/3/2023). Coming from 14 pro max. ALL devices in the house work great (ATT 2gb Fiber, running through Netgear WAX620 access points). Previous Iphone 14 PM working great and fast over wifi.

New 15PM will connect to network (even get the "New device scanned and no vulnerabilities detected" message from router saying that new device is safe) but the WIFI symbol never appears in upper right corner to show it is connected or has internet. Data works through 5G still. 15PM will work fine connected to the wife's 14PM hotspot. WIFI symbol shows and everything.

I have NO VPN software running, I have tried all bands of 2.4/5ghz and isolating them. Created new SSID. Nothing. It will connect to them just never show that WIFI is actually connected outside of saying it is connected to a certain SSID.

Very frustrating and I am fixing to reactivate my 14PM and return this one.

eero 6+

iphone 15 pro

Greenlight Fiber 500/500 mbps

Right next to the router I can get nearly 500/500mbps (which is faster than any other wifi device I have), walk ~20 feet across the room and into the bathroom and it drops to <1mbps, whilst an iphone14 pro (or any other device I've tested) continues to get ~300mbps in the same location. Same happens with my wife's iphone 15 pro. I can't configure any of the eero settings to try the turning off 160Mhz :(

Agree same issue. Iphone 15 pro max is the only device in my house that has trouble connecting to wifi. Luckily cellular data is fine and I have unlimited plan but still annoying not to be able to be on home wifi.

Connection is spotty, & frequently fails. When it works it works great but incredibly inconsistent. Restarting the router usually works for a little bit but then it goes back to being spotty after a few minutes. Have an ASUS RT AX88U modem & Centurylink Fiber. But really don't think those are at fault since literally every other wifi device in the house works besides my brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max! Apple fix this ASAP PLEASE!!!

I’m in agreement with you for now on the phone being the issue rather than the router itself. My old iPhone XS (yes I was a long holdout haha) worked great on this same router, even with just the 5Ghz band, and never had connection issues.

Do you have your network set up like mine with different names for the different bands or do you have one name for all three bands as Apple wants us to do?

I have a SE 2020 which has the private address feature for my wifi mac. I am running older ios 16.01.

So this feature is not new to the 15Pro.

My whole wifi network has this feature and the downside of using is that every time you reset/reboot your device the wifi mac address is changed. This causes websites to not recognize my devices and requires the third layer security to kick in. Basically the website has to send me a new code via my phone in most cases.

If your iphone is reassigning wifi mac address at a high frequency it will spend a lot of time connecting your device.

What wifi types like ax,ac and so on does your router support.

It should be at least a wifi6 ax type device to be able to support high wifi bandwidth.

I think it may be just with the iPhone 15 Pro Max as my wife who has the 15 Pro does not have the same problem. At this point it’s only my 15 Pro Max that has the issue of automatically connecting to WiFi 6E mode when I’ve set it to ‘Off’. Note when it does switch itself to ‘Automatic’ I am unable to connect to my WiFi and then have to go into settings to turn 6E off.

At this point I’m just convinced nothing actually works. We need to wait for an Apple update here. At home, at the bar, at a restaurant, at the office…. Problems across the board and I just disable WiFi. I’ve tried everything and it’s just a false sense of ‘this works’. Every time the problem has come back. At lunch on Wi-Fi 5 network, same problem at this restaurant. One minute I’m good and the next I’m down again. Fortunately my cell act is unlimited.
