iPhone 15 Pro Max Wi-Fi Issues

I Hope apple or others can help me out - I’m having issues with WiFi on the IPhone 15 Pro Max

myself and others are having issues with using WiFi and 160hz - many have raised issues on Reddit posts - some cannot connect to there WiFi at all and others can connect like myself but have random issues with no internet from time to time

Mines working on 5GHz 160hz, but sometimes I’ll just have no internet connection (it’s still connected to the WiFi) - I have to disconnect from the WiFi and connect again for it to work.

I’m using ASUS RT-AX82U - 5GHz allowed Upto 160hz - I’m running 1gig internet so last thing I want to do is try running at 80hz as I’ll loose speed

When it does work it works great 😊

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP APPLE

I've got a fix!!! This was frustrating me to no end. Went to Apple store and talked with one of the experienced techs. He said the issue is the iPhone when you import from an old iPhone imports non-ideal network settings, not just your old iPhone passwords. Fix is below.

Network -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset Network Settings

Wifi has been working like a charm since I did this. Read about this for hours and never saw this suggested anywhere else so figured I'd contribute.

I've just updated to iOS 17.1 and the issue is still not fixed for me. I still cannot connect to my 5ghz wifi from my main router. However I can connect to a 5ghz wifi if I use a range extender, which is what I've been doing since I got the phone on launch day.

I can't believe this issue hasn't been prioritized. I'm guessing most people connect to their 2.4ghz, which doesn't seem to have any issues. Can we start bombarding the writers of tech news site like MacRumors, 9to5Mac, The Verge so this gets some more coverage? Or even start emailing Tim Apple himself.

I have same issue. iPhone 15 pro max. Router tp link archer c6, but same on asus and repeater both 2g and 5g. I have noticed that when my phone WiFi stop working then also my router is showing red internet diode for few seconds, then it starts working and so on… when I switch WiFi in my iPhone off, then router works fine and on other devices everything is ok. So I assume my iphone15 is breaking or interrupting somehow my WiFi/router.

So here’s my situation. I have owned the 15 pro for almost 4 weeks now and facing the wifi issue from the beginning. It keeps getting disconnected from the wifi and sometimes doesn’t connect at all. I figured that everytime I reset my router the phone works perfectly for the next 2-3 days, then again the problem starts. This problem happens only with my home wifi. Every other device works perfectly with my home wifi however.

I’ve tried everything. Even visited an Apple service centre. But couldn’t find any solution anywhere. Really hope Apple addresses this issue in the next update as 17.1 did not bring a solution to this!

Are your devices setup to send the same SSID?

Note that the only Apple devices to support Wi-Fi 6E networks are:

  • MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2023) or MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2023)
  • Mac mini (2023)
  • Mac Studio (2023)
  • Mac Pro (2023)
  • iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) or iPad Pro 12.9 inch (6th generation)

So unless you have one of those, they won't even using 6E and so only your iPhone would find any errors involving the way your Wi-Fi access points are implementing 6E (or 7.)

Having similar Wifi issues with AmpliFi Alien router and iPhone 15pro Max. Wifi 6 speeds are way less (300mbps) than Wifi 5 speeds (800+mbps) no matter the configuration or channel it seems. After a few hours the Wifi speed drops to almost nothing and I typically have to reboot the iPhone to get decent connection speed back. Phone is on latest OS.

This is the only device on my network with any issues.

iPhone 15 pro constant wifi issues started in the last week ... using Asus RT-AX82U we have 13 clients on this router with no problems at all .. just the 15 pro ...

it just drops randomly and I have to keep turning wifi off on my phone and rejoining to make it work.

if I come back after being out my phone connects to wifi and my mobile data cuts out and I have no connection

Grrr so annoying

hope apple can fix this soon ..

Just a bit of an update:

A few days ago, I posted about changing my DNS settings from Automatic to Manual. It seemed to work for a little bit, but I’ve been, once again, experiencing drops in my connection on a regular basis. I’m finding it hard to believe that it’s my router, considering that every other device in our house connects to it NO PROBLEM, including my girlfriend’s iPhone 14 Pro.

I don’t understand why this is happening. Is it the new Wi-Fi 6E chip in the new iPhone models? You’d think that they’d make sure it would be compatible with routers that don’t support 6E, considering probably 95% of people don’t even have a Wi-Fi 6E enabled router (or other devices with it for that matter). This is insane. I hope this issue is resolved soon, because I’ve tried everything. I’ve called Apple twice, and I’ve called Bell. I guess I should have waited for the reviews before upgrading from my iPhone 12 Pro, which, by the way, worked FLAWLESSLY.

I have a 15 pro that was getting around 160 mpbs download when a buddy with a 14 pro was getting close to 450. My first thought was an IOS issue so I asked if he was on 17.1.1 and he wasnt; yet my phone was as I had just updated. I told him to update just because I was curious if it was the new update that made my phone suddenly painfully slow when connected to wifi. After he updated to 17.1.1 he ran a speed test and sure enough was getting similar results as I was.
