iPhone 15 Pro Max Wi-Fi Issues

I Hope apple or others can help me out - I’m having issues with WiFi on the IPhone 15 Pro Max

myself and others are having issues with using WiFi and 160hz - many have raised issues on Reddit posts - some cannot connect to there WiFi at all and others can connect like myself but have random issues with no internet from time to time

Mines working on 5GHz 160hz, but sometimes I’ll just have no internet connection (it’s still connected to the WiFi) - I have to disconnect from the WiFi and connect again for it to work.

I’m using ASUS RT-AX82U - 5GHz allowed Upto 160hz - I’m running 1gig internet so last thing I want to do is try running at 80hz as I’ll loose speed

When it does work it works great 😊

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP APPLE

I've got a fix!!! This was frustrating me to no end. Went to Apple store and talked with one of the experienced techs. He said the issue is the iPhone when you import from an old iPhone imports non-ideal network settings, not just your old iPhone passwords. Fix is below.

Network -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset Network Settings

Wifi has been working like a charm since I did this. Read about this for hours and never saw this suggested anywhere else so figured I'd contribute.

I'm having the same issue. When I try to connect to our Wifi on my new iPhone 15 Pro it will connect but I don't receive any signal. I'm not able to surf the internet or to use Facebook or any apps like that as it will not download data. Basically, unless I turn of wifi my phone is useless in my house or anywhere that's broadcasting the wrong signal. I'm beyond frustrated and ready to return my phone! I use Xfinity for wifi and have their xFi router which is supposed to be the best router they have. I have no connection issue with any of my other devices in my house. I expect Apple to be better than this!

I am glad you were able to get their attention. I started calling Apple support on the 23rd and spent an hour that day, drove two hours to the nearest Apple Store so they could run further diagnostics, spoke with 2nd level support multiple times and was eventually told they weren’t doing anything unless i could replicate the issue with another router. The did indicate it was a software issue but they were not elevating it to the engineers. Sounds like we may finally get a resolution…at some point.

I wonder if we have the same issue. So my WiFi issue only occurs when I leave my house and come back, in that it won’t reconnect to my WiFi. It always says 5G+ and when I check the settings it’s not on my WiFi and I have to manually re-select my network name and it connects just fine then. Once I’m connected to my WiFi, it never drops or has issues, only when I leave the house again (like to walk my dog) and come back does it not reconnect so I have to manually click on it again.

Yes, I have it set to automatically connect. I’ve also reset my network settings on the phone and played around with my router as well. I have a high end Nighthawk router that runs a 6Ghz 6E band. Now the one “problem” I have (problem per apple but no other product I own) is that I name my 2.4, 5, and 6Ghz bands all differently (with the same password though). Apple wants me to rename all three bands to the same name to fix my connection to make it “stable”, but I won’t do that because then it’ll screw up my diverse band limited devices throughout my household and I don’t want my phone wanting to switch to a 2.4Ghz band just because the signal itself is marginally better at times. I did this kinda setup with the same network name and oh boy everything was messed up and my devices across the board were running slower. My iPhone XS never had this issue, even with bands named differently. I wonder if it’s something else.

Thanks for the input! What you explained is definitely how it’s supposed to work, but when I’ve changed my router and devices to work that way (especially my phone) I often find those devices switching to a different band, and pretty steathily I might add to a band that it shouldn’t theoretically switch to, and then I have to go manually change it back to the desired WiFi band as it won’t select the best band. I get what you are saying though as that is how the devices should operate and there shouldn’t be an issue (and in fact if it worked that way it would increase my overall connection/stability), I’ve just found in practice it doesn’t always work out that way. That’s why I force things to only connect to certain bands now so they “don’t get any ideas” and have a mind of their own haha.

That being said, so this morning when I woke up, I found that my phone was off the WiFi and connected to the 5G+ network instead. First time I’ve notice my phone just getting off the network while I never left my home. When I go to reconnect to the router, it shows full bars for reception. My condo is not big at all so I’m never more than like 20 feet from my router (with minimal

walls). For reference, I have a Nighthawk Raxe500. It has no connection issues with any other devices, including my laptop which is the only other device currently configured for the 6E band.
