iPhone 15 Pro Max Wi-Fi Issues

I Hope apple or others can help me out - I’m having issues with WiFi on the IPhone 15 Pro Max

myself and others are having issues with using WiFi and 160hz - many have raised issues on Reddit posts - some cannot connect to there WiFi at all and others can connect like myself but have random issues with no internet from time to time

Mines working on 5GHz 160hz, but sometimes I’ll just have no internet connection (it’s still connected to the WiFi) - I have to disconnect from the WiFi and connect again for it to work.

I’m using ASUS RT-AX82U - 5GHz allowed Upto 160hz - I’m running 1gig internet so last thing I want to do is try running at 80hz as I’ll loose speed

When it does work it works great 😊

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP APPLE

I've got a fix!!! This was frustrating me to no end. Went to Apple store and talked with one of the experienced techs. He said the issue is the iPhone when you import from an old iPhone imports non-ideal network settings, not just your old iPhone passwords. Fix is below.

Network -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset Network Settings

Wifi has been working like a charm since I did this. Read about this for hours and never saw this suggested anywhere else so figured I'd contribute.

If you read the link and specifically the explanations of DFS and TPC, you'll see that for lower channels they may need to change frequency and power levels to avoid RADAR and other sources of interference. This often means the signals may be at levels low enough you can only connect when in the same room as the Wi-Fi router.

Other channels, such as those at 149 and above, are not subject to the same restrictions.

That's not an Apple issue, it's part of the Wi-Fi standard.

I setup a new TP-link axe5400 mesh system. WiFi 6E. Worked great for a day. I am getting “unable to join” errors on 2.4&5Ghz and 6Ghz networks. This is on brand new iphone15 Pro which was migrated from a iPhone 12. I tried the 80Mhz downgrade and the guest network. They worked.

I went ahead a reset all network connections. Changed the network back to 160 MHz and am now connected.

let’s see how long it lasts. I’ll leave 6Ghz off for now.

I have a 15 pro that was getting around 160 mpbs download when a buddy with a 14 pro was getting close to 450. My first thought was an IOS issue so I asked if he was on 17.1.1 and he wasnt; yet my phone was as I had just updated. I told him to update just because I was curious if it was the new update that made my phone suddenly painfully slow when connected to wifi. After he updated to 17.1.1 he ran a speed test and sure enough was getting similar results as I was.

I had the same problem. Connected on the WiFi but no internet. Restarted the router and my phone but nothing changed (neither on 2,4 ghz nor on 5 ghz). And then it hit me. I checked my vpn app and I saw that it was trying to connect on a vpn unsuccessfully again and again (without any action on my part). I closed the app and my internet connection was up immediately! I don’t know if that’s the solution for everyone but it worked for me!

I can't speak for Apple Pay, but SMS is a cellular carrier feature, so Verizon was who needed to fix it.

Wi-Fi specs are backwards compatible so even the newest device should work without issue with old access points; the issue is usually on the cutting edge of new standards where vendors may not have implemented the new standards properly.

Thanks! This was my issue as well, although it was the McAfee Security & Wifi Privacy app in my case. Exact same issue that after transferring to a new phone, some apps (but not all) could not tell that I had an internet connection. I also would see the VPN toggle flickering within Settings. After deleting the app, the other apps started recognizing my internet connection again. I also could not see in the Wi-Fi connection in the top bar on the Home Screen until after deleting the McAfee Security app.
