iPhone 15 Pro Max Wi-Fi Issues

I Hope apple or others can help me out - I’m having issues with WiFi on the IPhone 15 Pro Max

myself and others are having issues with using WiFi and 160hz - many have raised issues on Reddit posts - some cannot connect to there WiFi at all and others can connect like myself but have random issues with no internet from time to time

Mines working on 5GHz 160hz, but sometimes I’ll just have no internet connection (it’s still connected to the WiFi) - I have to disconnect from the WiFi and connect again for it to work.

I’m using ASUS RT-AX82U - 5GHz allowed Upto 160hz - I’m running 1gig internet so last thing I want to do is try running at 80hz as I’ll loose speed

When it does work it works great 😊

PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP APPLE

I've got a fix!!! This was frustrating me to no end. Went to Apple store and talked with one of the experienced techs. He said the issue is the iPhone when you import from an old iPhone imports non-ideal network settings, not just your old iPhone passwords. Fix is below.

Network -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset Network Settings

Wifi has been working like a charm since I did this. Read about this for hours and never saw this suggested anywhere else so figured I'd contribute.

That sounds like an issue with your network at work; many corporate networks block the ports used for Wi-Fi calling and other services resulting in the behavior you report.

You cannot state that because an iPhone 13 works it's an Apple issue because the iPhone 13 did not support Wi-Fi 6E; if your router does, it may be an issue with their implementation of it.

It really doesn't.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are some of the first devices to support the new Wi-Fi 6e standard and the 6 GHz frequency.

If your access point gets its implementation wrong, you will see every older device operate without issue but you will see problems with your new device.

If you still have the device you are moving from, this seems to have helped me:

  • Reset phone from a computer connection (will force a fresh download of the iOS)
  • Delete VPN config+apps and reset network stats on the old iPhone.
  • Connect to the network from the old iPhone, with no VPN or other config
  • Try to connect from the new iPhone

Seems like the issue is centered around networks where I have previously connected. This is currently working at my gym and workspace. Not sure about home network, yet.

All troubleshooting steps listed in best order, stop between each and see if the problem is solved:

  1. Settings > General > Software Update, apply any available update
  2. Remove any and all VPNs and VPN apps
  3. Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings, then reconnect
  4. Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Data Mode, set to Standard
  5. Settings > WiFi > Select i next to Wifi network, disable Private Addressing
  6. Settings > WiFi > Select i next to Wifi network, disable Wi-Fi 6E mode
  7. Settings > (Your Name) > iCloud > Passwords & Keychain, disable Sync this iPhone

But yeah, IMO this is more of an Apple problem. Wi-Fi APs aren't perfect, but compatibility is not just about adhering to a standard but testing the dickens out of multiple products to see if your device actually plays well in the real world.

Oh and my work wi-fi still drops out on iOS 17.2.1, after doing all of the above. Aruba WAPs on a controller, recently upgraded to new WAPs.

Having similar Wifi issues with AmpliFi Alien router and iPhone 15pro Max. Wifi 6 speeds are way less (300mbps) than Wifi 5 speeds (800+mbps) no matter the configuration or channel it seems. After a few hours the Wifi speed drops to almost nothing and I typically have to reboot the iPhone to get decent connection speed back. Phone is on latest OS.

This is the only device on my network with any issues.
