USB C on iPhone 15 not working

I bought my iPhone 15 a couple of weeks ago, I am able to use the genuine apple charger to charge my phone, but when I stay over at my bf s house and use his third party usb c charging chords it doesn’t work. I tried like 3 third party chords and nothing worked. I updated to the newest iOS, I also turned my phone off, factory reset, nothing worked. It feels like my phone is the only one with this problem—am I doomed to be stuck with genuine iPhone chargers ?? Anyway to fix this issue?

If your iPhone charges correctly with the original Apple adaptor and charging cable there is no fault in the iPhone. The problem you describe is likely to be defective or cheap uncertified cables and no-name power adaptors which do not comply with the recognised standards. There is a lot of counterfeit and non-compliant junk out there which looks good and is cheap, but it is not all it pretends to be. Some of it just won't work, other may even be dangerous if it connects to mains power.

I am pretty sure you will find your iPhone will charge if you try accessories from well known and reputable third parties. My list is not exclusive, but you have a good chance with products from suppliers like Mopie or Belkin, and anything branded by well known phone manufacturers who are using USB-C.

I have just taken delivery of my new lazyboy electric recliner sofa complete with usbc charging port which now gives me 3 additional charge points and saves me wrestling with my kids for charging plugs. The corded charge cable apple provide with the iPhone 15 is usbc -usbc . I am unable to charge my phone from my sofa usbc port . Can you tell me how much output you need to supply enough power to charge iPhone 15 . I tried every sofa in scs and none of them charge my phone . Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.

I just purshased a new iphone 15 pro. In addition to the usb-C cable that came with the phone, I would like to use my many USB to USB-C cables at home I have been using for adroid devices. Using the same adaptor that came with an adroid device, only two out of five cables can charge the new iphone 15 while each and every one of them works for android devices. Can some one explain?

If the iphone 15 indeed has much narrower tolerance for accesories does it mean we can only order them from Apple store? Is this a commercial strategy or technical necessity?

I’m having similar issues. I can’t use my Apple CarPlay charger ( type a to type c). It works on and off. If it’s working and I hit a bump or the cord moves a little it stops working, so for a while I thought it was that cord. Around the time this started to happen certain cords I have at home stopped working altogether. I only have two cords now that work and one of them is the one in the car that works on and off. I can’t use my other cord in the car, because my car doesn’t have a type c port for CarPlay. This just became an issue over the past few weeks or so.

you are spot on. looks like Apple wants to charge devices such as iPhones with their costly cables and chargers/adapters/converters. The whole world is currently struggling to get over USB-A to B to C converters and this time with cables and adapters too. Same is the case with me too. All of sudden my and my wife's iPhones either stopped charging or connects/disconnects too frequently when any thing (adapter, A-C converter, cable) is non-apple. This was not an issue earlier though.
