iPhone 15 hot when charging

Agree. Too much heating occur during charging. Looks like poor design in iphone 15. Lot of people complaint about green line too on their phones. This might be because of overheating.

Hi, have a new iPhone 15 plus doing this same thing. Very hot when charging, especially the left side and have the upgrade. Just wondering if you were able to resolve this issue or if it’s just something you are dealing with?

i have done all updates and my still gets hot when charging. I have tried charging without the case as well and it still gets very warm. Does this mean the phone and or battery will not last long? Wondering if I should get AppleCare just for this reason?

(do you also have any?) ex on latest ios there is an option for limiting charge upto 80% though i have enabled that option my phone charged to 90’s. What is this is this normal or is this the way how it works,is this heating issue degrade my battery health ?,and y’day i have a event where i uses my camera a lot like 150 pics like i didn't feel my phone getting that hot but while switching between apps i encountered black screen for few sec 2-3,and few more on call poster, is there any one who faced these are is that only me. # apple pls look over!!

Same thing. Using cmf charger. What I have observed is if it's idle and not in use it doesn't heats up much. But most times like 90% the side on left is hot. Like you can feel the burn when handheld to check for a few seconds max. Is this normal apple. Everyone is facing the same issue. Kindly update dilegently and if this requires update or replacement?

Not only worried about the longetivity because charging is minimum twice per day or so. But also about the user experience. Can't use a phone worth a price for long with such issue.

Kindly escalate this as a complaint.

Heating is normal within accepted parameters. My 15+ is heating up WAAAY too much. Sorry - not normal. Will certainly affect battery longevity. Look it up. It’s a fact. Apple needs to address this and compensate premature battery failure due to design defect. It’s the right thing to do.

Hi, I am facing issue while keeping iphone 15 on charge, its getting hot however, battery reaches above 85% I am getting warning that the charging is on hold once the iphone is on normal temperature the charging will be resumed. Today I faced the issue when the battery was 87% and yesterday when the battery was 96%. OS is updated still its happening, what's the solution.

What charger do you use to charge your iphones with? I use a 20w apple charger ,my iphone 15 gets very hot till 80 percent and gets paused as the temperature is very high. Its been 5 days since i got the phone(ios is up to date).

The Service centre at Khar, Mumbai- India just did my phone formatting and updated software but the heating issue while charging is persist. They even kept my phone for 1 wholday under observation and returned saying there is no heating problem. But from the time I have phone back (past 3days) the heating issue is still there. @iphone community pls suggest how to resolve it?

my I phone has the same heating issue.

although I haven’t checked exact % where heating is more,still I can say that it can’t be normal.

while charging with a 20w fast charger the phone heats up to such level that I can’t take it near my ears to talk.

apple must do something about it as it may severely effect the sensitive parts like motherboard and cpu including the battery.

I have recently purchased iPhone 15 Pro in June'24 and I am facing the same heating issue that everyone is reporting since September'23.

I can't believe Apple has not resolved it till now or gave any explanation/fix about it.

Hi, i just got my iphone 15 few month back and have noticed this too… its gets too hot and this happened to my old iphone 8 which had battery issues as it was 3yo phone.. my iphone 15 is new and few months old so im not sure whats the actual reason behind it.. im worried and definitely not very happy about it as its not a cheap phone and i do hope someone from apple can help and verify this issue asap!

Iphone 15 gets quite warm while charging with apple 20W adapter, on the left side it is difficult to even touch, as soon as it reaches ~75% battery level, it starts cooling down and this problem is not observed after 75% charging (even at 90 or 100%), only till 70-75% phone gets heated

People can get together and discuss where and what the heck they want when they want to. Evidently it helps to make sure you’re not the only one experiencing a problem and as well it’s a place to share possibly solutions.

Same problem here with iPhone 15. I have to wet a washcloth and press it against the back of the phone to cool it down. This is ridiculous. Also, the cable degrades far more rapidly because of the excess heat. This is *clearly* an Apple design flaw that has never been investigated. And it should be.
