Bluetooth issues on my iPhone adter iOS 17 update

Yeah, iPhone 12 here with iOS 17.1.1 "upgrade". No problem connecting to AirPods strangely enough, but I can't connect to two of my third party devices at home (Sony WH headphones and Philips Hue Strip lights).

at first I thought 17.1.1 impacted only my Apple carplay, every time I get a text message my Pandora disconnects.

Then I realized when I get any text message external Bose Speaker disconnects. So it's a bluetooth issue that Apple NEEDS To FIX ASAP. Frustrating to say the least.

Same, fren' same. Bose -- connects occasionally but audio garbles, gaps, quits working. Same issue with my earbuds. I'm back in the year 2001 hardwired into my iPhone with ancient Apple earbuds. I did the update, I have tons of unused space, but none of it works. The only workaround I found, and this is odd, is running audio through, my TVs screen sharing airplay. But that doesn't work for dog walks.

I am also having trouble with all Bluetooth connections wit my new iPhone 15 (iOS 17.1.2). Constantly goes in/out of connection. Happens with every device I utilize for Bluetooth…only consistent is the phone. Very frustrating. Seeking resolution.

Forever I've used Bluetooth in my Honda for calls, but after iOS 17 I can't hear through the stereo and because it's still connected I can't switch to the phone. So forever driving with my phone was safe now it's not. The real problem is too many "engineers" incrementally increase complexity to incrementally increase utility, and unfortunately complexity is exponential and utility remains linear.

My Garmin watch has been connecting and disconnecting since my iPhone upgraded to 17.2.1

Was wondering why my iPhone bluetooth connection kept dropping on my Land Cruiser.

Thought I was losing my mind but it seems after googling, I am not alone.

I have iPhone 15 with iOS 17.2.1 and I have the same Bluetooth issue: frequently disconnecting with AirPods (2nd generation) and Beats Solo 3… It’s really bad!! A 1000 euros phone that have a bluetooth issue… and Apple stay in silence 🤷🏻‍♂️

I tried airjarvis' solution and it was working until I connected a second pair of headphones or an external speaker to it. Once I did that, it wouldn't reconnect after I paused on any of the devices.

I have the same issue with iOS 17.2.1 (Also with iOS 17.1.1) Will not air drop either direction. Will no longer pair with either of my MBP's. Ventura or Sonoma. This is an enormous issue Apple, what are you doing???

So both bluetooth and airdrop have failed.

Apple offers to take logs from my machine, for me to wipe it clean and reinstall the os! etc..

This is ridiculous! Apple you have sunk to a very very low quality level. Even Safari routinely locks up on me.

Not to mention Time Machine deciding that it won't scroll after using its Account Migration feature. Banish the feature or clean it up.

Come on! Get it together... You have a massive backlog of bugs and an even larger user base hoping you will come through!

I have the same issue. Lost basic Bluetooth pairing. Note I still have a wonderful iPod and it pairs with my ear buds! How can you, Apple, sitting on more than 1 trillion dollars, and still release such a poor quality software.

You have the staff, money, and regression testing capability to fix this... Instead you keep releasing software updates with the same problem.

I have had this issue that has massively impacted my business and POS system. I’ve bought a new iPad, new socket printers, tried all the techie advice…nothing has worked. It impacted HUGELY over my busiest season. And Apple haven’t addressed the issue.

I am using an iPhone 13 Pro updated to the iOS 17.2.1. Unfortunately, the update has not resolved the Bluetooth issue. If there is a resolution, please let me know about it.

Recently while driving I received a phone call I did not want to miss. In the process of trying to recover the Bluetooth connection. I nearly rear-ended the car in front of me. I managed in time and only had to deal with the items that slid on the floorboard.

The exact same thing started happening to my iPhone since it was updated to iOS 17.2.1 last night. Today I was not able to hear anything through the car stereo radio either, when I received calls. Yesterday, before the update, it was working just fine. So frustrating! For music apps it is working fine. Really weird behavior.

When I went to sleep one night, about a month or more ago, my iPhone 14 was still connected by Bluetooth to a few "gadgets" to which it had been connected for some time. During the night, the phone updated to iOS 17.2.1.. In the morning, I could no longer connect to several electronics to which I had been connected the night before. While I have no problem with my AirPods and Mac, I remain disconnected to these other devices. I've tried reloading software, rebooting, and in one case, I replaced the electronic item. All failed. Any advice? Thank you.

iOS 17.3 has also not fixed this. Problems connecting with my car, my hearing aids and my soundcore Bluetooth speaker. This directly affects my personal and work life. Without my hearing aid functionality, I’m dead in the water. Please help.
