iPhone 15 updated to iOS 17.2 and thereafter message syncing with iCloud is paused.

tried restarting

tried manually switching on/off in settings-icloud-messages in iCloud.

nothing works.


dont know if it resolved or not.


any help would be much appreciated.

Hi guys. I was facing the same issue after getting a new phone and updating to 17.2. Try this - settings > your name > iCloud > apps using iCloud (show all) > messages in iCloud > this should show the status of your sync and should then give you the option to “sync now”. I’m hoping you all see this option! So far so good.

Thats why I refuse to call them with my issue. Usually stuff like this fixes itself eventually on its own. It usually works after like 1 or 2 yrs from my experience with bugs. Like my issue is I dont think texts are being deleted on the server end. I manually delete mine everyday and have them set to keep for 30 days but I still delete them before that. So I think the reason my backup storage keeps increasing on ios 17.2 is because theyre not deleted on the server end. Ive heard it could take anywhere between 4 days-180 days to delete on the server end. So we'll see
