After update, Apple Pay says my card is expiring, but it is not

Why did the new update make Apple think my Apple Pay acct think my card is expired ? It won’t expire for two years, and now I can’t use Apple Pay for anything.

iPhone 7, iOS 14

The problem is Apple Pay/Wallet lost the last 2-digits of our expiration dates. It’s only reading the “20xx” and lost the last 2-digits.

Unfortunately this iOS will not let you edit the card info, EVEN if your card number has not changed (like if you got the new one in mail with simply a new exp date!!!).

SOOOOO, you have to DELETE the card then add it back in using the “MM/YYYY” format and it then works!

That’s become a common issue over the last 10 days. The work around is to add another payment method using a four digit expiration date. Remove the problematic card. Restart iPhone. Add problematic card to account using four digit expiration date. Secondary payment method may be removed if desired.

I was having the same issue, I couldn’t delete my current card like mention above since it kept saying I had an active subscription. I had to contact support. Here is what I had to do.

go to settings

click on your name

shipping and address

add a different card 1st

then delete the original card

then go back and add the original card and then delete the different card you don’t want.

This solved my issue, I hope it does for you.

Got the same email that my card had expired - even though it doesn't until the end of the year. Couldn't remove it as it was my only method of payment, so added Paypal, then deleted visa and added it back in again. Looks like it is all working again. Reset my Apple Pay to Visa and made sure it was still my default. Thanks for starting this thread.
