After update, Apple Pay says my card is expiring, but it is not

Why did the new update make Apple think my Apple Pay acct think my card is expired ? It won’t expire for two years, and now I can’t use Apple Pay for anything.

iPhone 7, iOS 14

Mine is doing the same thing. I can’t download any apps or many any in-app purchases because it says my card is going to expire. It doesn’t expire for a while. Very frustrating because I can’t remove the card to try and add it back in from my phone because of my active Apple Music subscription.

I deleted my card and added it back using the 4-digit year to no avail. I selected PayPal instead, and it worked right away. Super frustrating, as that's just one more hoop for the transaction to be completed. Apple should really be communicating with people about this in some way other than the spammy-looking emails they've sent out (that don't solve the problem anyway)

I have this same problem I tried uninstalling my card and reinstalling and it still doesn’t work. Even used the full date and updated my banks online expiration date which is a thing. Nothing worked. just ordered a new card from the bank my current card isn’t a new rfid card so maybe that’s an issue idk. Apple I’m really about to get a Samsung phone.

I finally got it!

I added a second card.

removed it from the Apple ID payment.

also went into wallet and removed it

turned the phone off, turned it back on

added the card manually (with the 4 digit year expiration) and then back to the wallet

this time I had no issue linking it and it works now! Before I could add it again but not link it (forgot it was still in the wallet)

The solution only became available on the 1st of January 2024. Go into your online banking app select your card and you’ll find there’s an option to set up Apple Pay on your card. You then scan your physical card or enter the details manually and follow the simple instructions which creates a new payment method. Any amount due is instantly taken from your bank account. Problem solved. 😊

So it’s been doing this to me too even though my card doesn’t expire until November of this year. I went into my Apple ID> Media, and purchases > manage payments. I deleted my card and tried to add it back in, and it said that the expiration date cannot be in the past. Instead of just writing the last two digits of the year like 24, I put in 2024 the second time and it fixed it. For some reason with the new update, it’s requiring you to actually put the 20 in front of the two digits even though it does not show a four digit year on cards. Then, as someone else said, I simply linked it to Apple Pay.

After update, Apple Pay says my card is expiring, but it is not
