"Your credit card is about to expire" error every time I try to purchase an app in App Store

Remove and re-add the card through your Apple ID on apple.com. http://appleid.apple.com

Same issue. Support Chat said this is a known issue and I will be getting a call back later tonight.

I removed my existing card (it was NOT going to expire) and added it back in. For whatever reason, it worked. Took all of 2 minutes. Back to crushing candy!

Did you try to re- add / update with full year for expiration date? Ex: 2027 instead of 27

Settings -payment and shipping , remove card and add it back!

I had the same problem. I removed the card and re-added it. Everything now works as expected. Took two minutes.

You can cancel your subscriptions which should give you the ability to delete the card. Once you delete it, re-add it & simply resume your subscription 😊 Hope this helps!

I had the same problem but someone mentioned that they are now allowing you to delete your card and reenter it even if you have subscriptions. I was able to delete and reenter my Cc.

I had the same issue, also with a card due to expire in 27. I removed and added the card and everything magically fixed

This exact thing is happening to me right now. I’ve had the same exact card on my account for over a year & have never gotten this error. My card doesn’t expire until the year 2027, so the message telling me: “your card is about to expire” is obviously incorrect.

This is happening to me too. I contacted Apple support and they couldn’t fix it so I’m waiting for a supervisor to call me back soon. I’ll come update and let you all know if anything worked or if it could be fixed.

This exact thing is happening to me as well. I made purchases last week with zero problem. This is so aggravating that it seems to be a common thing with a lot of people right now but of course Apple isn’t addressing it.

Same thing is happening to me, and my card also expires in 2027. I’ve removed and added the card again, updated the phone, updated the banking app, updated the card through the banking app and nothing has worked. SO frustrating. Oddly enough I was able to add funds to Apple Cash just fine using the same card right. Glad I’m not the only one with this issue though

Same thing happening to me. Card expires in 2026, so this “card is about to expire” message doesn’t

make sense. I just used it yesterday on Apple Pay. The only thing about to expire is the year 2023, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

It’s sad we’re all having this problem. Mine started yesterday and it was so random. I made a purchase about ten minutes before it started. My card doesn’t expire until 2026 so I’m not entirely sure on what the issue is. The customer support agent I talked to last night said it was because I had an unpaid order. I sent a screenshot of that order being paid for and they told me I had to talk to a superior in about a hour. Definitely a system issue on their end. I don’t have another payment method so I’m hoping they can figure something out. I’m not about to buy a ton of gift cards just to spend my money💀
