There are various issues on my iPhone since updating to iOS 17.4.1

This new updates seems to have too many bugs, instead of fix. Wi-Fi won’t work. None of the apps open, just keep getting black screen, phone overheating, draining battery faster than charging, can’t access shared iCloud pictures, can not FaceTime. Safari is just blank page. Restarted Wi-Fi, phone, apps, but NOTHING WORKS!!! Can’t surf at all, games are blank too…. Need immediate fix!!!!

My understanding is any bug that occurs with an iOS update is often fixed with a forced (hard) restart. It fixed my airpod pairing issue immediately.

Here is how to do it. It’s different than powering down. try not to create much of a delay at all between pressing the first second and third button.

Force restart iPhone X and later, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If this doesn’t work, you can call your local Apple Store or any Apple Store, and can walk you through it.

iPhone 13. iOS 17.4.1

with 78/128 g free space

159/200 iCloud free space

  1. triple back tap doesn’t run speak screen anymore,
  2. iMessages disappear from both sender and receiver right after sending (I did not elect to unsend and no message was displayed that I unsent a message).
  3. Copy and paste buffers are glitchy. -Nothing is pasted or a prior copy pastes rather than the most recent copy. Maybe copy sometimes doesn’t work. Share sheet not copying pdf docs created via print.
  4. shake to undo does not work when set to back tap.
  5. battery capacity dropped from 99% to 97% in days.
  6. game center backgammon and random apps close on there own

Constantly need to hard restart iphone

Can I roll iOS back to 17.1?

Ok so I’m a fellow frustrated iPhone user who previously had major issues with iMessage and with FaceTime, all these issues popped up as soon as I updated to 17.4.1. I figured out the fix for iMessages not sending and FaceTime not working, I’m still having issues connecting to safari, but here’s how I fixed my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

  1. open the settings app
  2. tap messages
  3. toggle iMessage off
  4. go back to settings
  5. select FaceTime
  6. toggle Facetime off
  7. go back to settings and scroll to the top
  8. toggle on airplane mode (this will turn wifi off)
  9. select wifi
  10. toggle wifi on
  11. go back to settings, select messages
  12. toggle iMessage on
  13. go back to setting, select FaceTime
  14. toggle FaceTime on
  15. then go back to settings, scroll to the top and toggle airplane mode off
  16. if iMessage hasn’t responded yet then you can go back to messages and toggle iMessage back off then back on again and you can do the same for FaceTime if FaceTime is still not working.

i know this sounds repetitious but I can assure you I scoured the internet for an answer and this is the only method that worked for me. Unfortunately I’m still having issues with my internet, but that’s a completely separate issue. Good luck everyone, and I hope that resolves your issues.
