There are various issues on my iPhone since updating to iOS 17.4.1

This new updates seems to have too many bugs, instead of fix. Wi-Fi won’t work. None of the apps open, just keep getting black screen, phone overheating, draining battery faster than charging, can’t access shared iCloud pictures, can not FaceTime. Safari is just blank page. Restarted Wi-Fi, phone, apps, but NOTHING WORKS!!! Can’t surf at all, games are blank too…. Need immediate fix!!!!

This page may be some help (thanks to MrBill3):

If your iPhone won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

And sometimes typing in the issue you're facing to the search box will turn up solutions.

If you can get back into your phone, so to speak, 9to5Mac reported that Apple released a new version of 17.4.1, but it was only available through a computer. On a Mac, plug the phone into the computer, open a Finder window, and select your iPhone in the side bar. If the side panel isn't showing, go to the View menu and click Show Side Bar. On older Macs you may have to use iTunes, but it is similar. On a Windows computer I believe you either open iTunes or the Apple Devices app, but I'm not familiar with that setup.

Anyway, once you have done that, there should be a "page" for your phone. Choose General from the top row, and there will be a Check for Update button. From there you should be able to update your phone the newer version of 17.4.1.

I updated "over the air" to 17.4.1 and didn't see any problems. But when I saw the article I updated again and my phone went through the whole process, which seems to indicate that this is a different update. Since then it has worked fine, as far as I can see.

9to5Mac reports that the build number for the over-the-air update is 21E236, but the one through a computer is 21E237.

Yeah, I'm having to head to the Apple store for my phone. My wife and I both have a 14 plus. Both of our phones did the update overnight. Hers works fine, mine doesn't. It's pretty useless right now. Horrible update, one of the worst I've encountered in over 13 years. Booooo. I've tried everything tech "support" has recommended, multiple times and nothing works.

I suspect there are several different issues/bugs with various devices/configurations, but mine primarily involves iCloud dropping connection with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, leading to abnormal behavior in apps such as freezing or crashing.

Below are some bugs that won’t be solved by restarting or resetting Network settings or install the newer build via mac as mentioned by others. It will work again after restarting for few minutes and then problems happen again:

• Waze freezes on the loading screen.

• Files continuously fail to retrieve directory files and folders.

• Voice Recorder crashes when tapping on the three dots.

• Downloaded books cause the Books app to crash when tapped.

I’ll update if I discover more issues.

This is happening to my iPhone 13 Pro Max too. Camera is all messed up. I’m am through with Apple. I’m going back up android, cancelling Apple Music and Apple TV. They’ve had enough chances. Apple is by far the worst phones I’ve ever owned, nothing but problems. How do they f up the updates so bad every single time? Seriously, aren’t tech guys supposed to be smart?

It seems they resurrected a bug from about 8 years ago. Playing iTunes via Bluetooth in my car, a call came in and the music was paused like it should be. After the call, the music resumed but at the lowest volume. Now Bluetooth and iTunes is very flaky. With shuffle on, I sometimes have to hit play after one song finishes or the music doesn't continue. Or there is a 20 or 30 second delay between songs, even though it shows connected. Didn't anyone test this dog of a release?

Contacts have been erased, I've restarted 4 times, some of the apps won't even load on the home screen, none of my messages have the names with the numbers. First time I restarted the phone froze and wouldn't finish loading. Managed to get into settings and shut it down that way. What an absolute mess. Probably the worst update experience ever. Battery is drained and won't fully charge, text messages when you open them make the "message sent" sound without even typing anything. FIX THIS NOW!

Same here!! I have a iphone 11, since my update my mobile data is saying its turned off when its not. I even restarted it. As well my wifi isn't connecting but connects to all other devices in the house. I forced restarted my phone multiple times and no change at all. Phone was working just fine and here I am in a day after my update and I'm having these problems. Also just paid my phone bill so I have all new data and everything.

I haven’t been able to use cellular data, personal hotspot setting is missing, and blurred out on the control centre, no option for cellular network settings, at least to attempt to do a manual configuration. I contacted my network provider, and they’ve tried everything, all to no avail, I updated my sim card, my network provided tried to send a configuration but that didn’t go through. When I inserted my sim into another non apple device, the configuration came through. So it’s the phone and I use and iPhone 14 plus, all these issues just after I updated my iOS to the 17.4.1
