There are various issues on my iPhone since updating to iOS 17.4.1

This new updates seems to have too many bugs, instead of fix. Wi-Fi won’t work. None of the apps open, just keep getting black screen, phone overheating, draining battery faster than charging, can’t access shared iCloud pictures, can not FaceTime. Safari is just blank page. Restarted Wi-Fi, phone, apps, but NOTHING WORKS!!! Can’t surf at all, games are blank too…. Need immediate fix!!!!

This page may be some help (thanks to MrBill3):

If your iPhone won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

And sometimes typing in the issue you're facing to the search box will turn up solutions.

If you can get back into your phone, so to speak, 9to5Mac reported that Apple released a new version of 17.4.1, but it was only available through a computer. On a Mac, plug the phone into the computer, open a Finder window, and select your iPhone in the side bar. If the side panel isn't showing, go to the View menu and click Show Side Bar. On older Macs you may have to use iTunes, but it is similar. On a Windows computer I believe you either open iTunes or the Apple Devices app, but I'm not familiar with that setup.

Anyway, once you have done that, there should be a "page" for your phone. Choose General from the top row, and there will be a Check for Update button. From there you should be able to update your phone the newer version of 17.4.1.

I updated "over the air" to 17.4.1 and didn't see any problems. But when I saw the article I updated again and my phone went through the whole process, which seems to indicate that this is a different update. Since then it has worked fine, as far as I can see.

9to5Mac reports that the build number for the over-the-air update is 21E236, but the one through a computer is 21E237.

I’m having trouble sending videos, even when I edit them down, I get an error saying it’s not working, I can’t send them on any other apps either, I’ve tried discord and snap and the second I attempt to send my gaming videos to friends, the apps crash. I’ve restarted my phone, disconnected from WiFi and reconnected, tried using mobile data, and still NOTHING IS WORKING! I really hope Apple gets on this quickly because it’s starting to really irritate me.

Front (Selfie) camera remains black. Even third party apps are not recognizing the camera. FaceID isn’t working because of camera malfunction. Flashlight turns off automatically after few seconds. I have contact the apple support and followed their instructions. I have already fully reset few times even using iTunes. There is no difference. Still same.(IP12)

My iPhone 11 is totally a dud phone right now immediately after iOS update to 17.4.1. It was in a perfect condition, with recently replaced battery, health at 98%, prior to the update. What on earth has happened!!! I tried to hard-reset the phone multiple times but it won’t even boot up. It’s totally dead as if the battery is flat (cannot be charged at all) or damaged. Apple, is this your method of getting us all to replace our good condition phones? It’s totally despicable way of doing business!

My battery is draining at record speed and while it charging the screen gets so hot I can’t touch it! Apps are freezing all the time. Trying to access the internet is like living in 1990 again with dial up! Even when connect to WiFI ~ I have deleted and off loaded stuff this is beyond frustrating. I didn’t choose to update this time my phone just did the update even though I have it setup not to automatically update. My phone isn’t even a year old I got it literally 7 months ago so it not the age of the phone. I am dropping calls, call quality is horrible, text take forever to go through and in general it’s as if we took a giant 20+ years step backwards in technology 🤦‍♀️ please fix ASAP ~ I can’t not continue this way!!

I have recently gotten the iPhone SE 3 (2022) months prior and it was absolutely fine when I had first gotten it, no software issues, no bugs etc, although ever since I had installed the iOS 17.4.1 software update it has been having a few issues that include my music playing on its own if I have it turned off and just the app running in the background, paused and everything, and just tonight I had just come across another bug where it had activate Siri randomly out of nowhere while I’m listening to my music. (for a bit of extra information, I do not use Apple Music I prefer the SoundCloud app instead.) is there anything I can do to lessen these bugs, or do I just have to wait for Apple themselves to solve these issue’s in due time?

Would be better if you gave more info on what it took to actually fix the issue so others don't have to go through all the times figuring it out. My 12 went through all the issues described in the posts before and after yours and it took several hours to get it up and working again. For me my phone is critical as it is necessary for Insulin and blood sugar control. I have no idea how I got it working other than I kept trying things repeatedly and finally it did a reboot and woke up in the proper mode. The only issue remaining is the time and date display on the lock screen are nearly unreadable and cannot be changed. What has happened to the reliability Apple is reputed to have?

the thing is my phone started having glitches regarding screen and even if I connected to good wifi it shows that I could not start my iCloud video. I am really embarrassed that apple have re launch new update 17.4.1 I am hoping to see good things coming from them.

else that's why people are choosing Samsung over apple. I hope good to apple but now I don't have enough faith on apple.

iPhone 13. iOS 17.4.1

with 78/128 g free space

159/200 iCloud free space

  1. triple back tap doesn’t run speak screen anymore,
  2. iMessages disappear from both sender and receiver right after sending (I did not elect to unsend and no message was displayed that I unsent a message).
  3. Copy and paste buffers are glitchy. -Nothing is pasted or a prior copy pastes rather than the most recent copy. Maybe copy sometimes doesn’t work. Share sheet not copying pdf docs created via print.
  4. shake to undo does not work when set to back tap.
  5. battery capacity dropped from 99% to 97% in days.
  6. game center backgammon and random apps close on there own

Constantly need to hard restart iphone

Can I roll iOS back to 17.1?
