How to get "Clean Up" feature for iPhone?

My understanding was that now in photos there is a new feature to remove objects from a photo and that it downloads automatically. It is called 'Clean Up'. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max with ios18 - how can I get this function?

Because it has not been released yet.

"Clean Up" is a feature of the Apple Intelligence update coming later this year. It s not yet available for any device.

It will only come to iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models when Apple Intelligence is released.

Hi Richard, I do not mean to be in any way disrespectful but I have been using computers since their inception for private use and in the graphic arts industry at the very start of all these programs and ideas. The notion that these phones so called older can not cope with a simple scrub and replace is just marketing nonsense, I should know I spent the best part of my career coming up with the spin. Also I was the seventh owner of a mobile phone in Australia so I am also very aware of the transition to smart devices and their capabilities. Any suggestion that a phone even back to iPhone 12 can’t cope with this feature is rubbish. Most sincerely, Steve

Hi Leonie, All you have stated is well known, however I am sorry to say it does not address the fact that “older” iPhones could easily handle the clean up feature. It is just a very simple case of Apple dictating redundancy solely based on the whole FOMO fenomenon to sell more product. Sadly the planet and personal economy’s can not continue to deal with a consume and dispose of society. Kind regards

I have iPhone 15pro max, ios 18.1 Germany and Canada version

Which is it then? The phone cannot come from or be set to 2 regions.

What is the model number under Settings ➜ General ➜ About ➜ Model?

What is the region set to in Settings ➜ General ➜ Language & Region ➜ Region?

What is your Apple ID / Apple Account region set to?

Are you physically in Canada or in Germany?

For iOS 18.1 and later, and iPadOS 18.1 and later, Apple Intelligence will not currently work if you are in the EU and if your Apple Account Country/Region is also in the EU. If traveling outside of the EU, Apple Intelligence will work on your iPhone or iPad if your language and Siri language are set to a supported language.

In April, many of the core features of Apple Intelligence will start to roll out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU.

You're right and I was wrong, but I couldn't figure out how to get back to my comment to correct or delete it. I had been in Google photos, where my photos were backed up. They have a feature to erase areas on photos. Thank you for letting me correct myself.

Its ok. It can happen. Thank you for acknowledging the mixup.

Yes, Google Photos offers a similar feature for those that want it on an unsupported iPhone.

You cannot, at least not yet.

Apple Intelligence and its features including Clean-Up are not available on European Union iPhones.

They will be available in April as explained in the support document for Apple Intelligence that has been linked dozens of times in the thread you replied to you.
