Slow unresponsive Safari after iOS 18

I have upgraded to iOS 18 and since my iPad and iPhone are having difficult time trying to load pages in Safari. Some apps as well takes sometime to load things as such as video.

the issue is only on wifi. When connecting cellular it works fine.

note that other browsers are functional most of the time even on wifi.

I have deleted browsing history, removed vpn profiles, disabled extensions, private relay.

getting crazy a bit how to fix it and why it work on celluar but not wifi. I don’t want To reset network settings and loose all wifi passwords. I wish I didn’t upgrade

I’m experiencing the same issue! 😫You can try these method to fix.

Try checking Safari’s network permissions in Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, and make sure it’s allowed. Sometimes updates mess with these settings.

Also, try reconnecting to Wi-Fi or checking your VPN settings. if you're using a VPN, try turning it off or switching servers—it might be interfering with Safari.

Another thing you can do is reset the default search engine in Safari (Settings > Safari > Search Engine). This can refresh Safari’s connection. And turn OFF advanced tracking and fingerprint protection to sse if that helps.

Remenber to clear the cache and history on your Safari.

If none of these work, it could be a system issue. The ios 18 version always has these issue. You can use a computer to update or repair iOS, it helps fix system glitches without data loss.

I know how annoying this is—I was stuck refreshing pages endlessly. Hopefully, one of these fixes works for you! Let me know if these help.
