Apple CarPlay Not Working in iOS 18.0

I did try buying a wireless adapter. I get about 75% functionality, but it is quirky as heck. And there’s a delay. I’m not a huge fan of the wireless adapters but for now it’s working in the interim.

How about resetting your Carplay and then connecting the iPhone.

Since the update to iOS 18, I have to plug in and unplug and plug in and unplug before the car will connect and load Apple play. Still works, but definitely some glitch there.

It’s not your head unit. Mine does this crap on my phone and my mates phone who has no issues doesn’t do it on my car. It’s all ios18

had the same issue. Resolved by buying a USB-C to lightning adapter

I bought me a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter. It works super well. I would recommend getting one to get back CarPlay to work.

I did update my phone to the newest software today and that somehow fixed the issue.

I recently experienced this and learned that not all USB-A to USB-C cables transfer data. I ordered an Anker brand cable from Amazon and it worked like a charm!

I know better than to update my phone's IOS before the bugs are worked out! CarPlay worked just fine until I updated to 18.0. Now CarPlay does not work with a cable. Bluetooth connection is fine. It has to be the update.

I’m also having a ton of issues with the new iOS 18 update. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Every time I connect to CarPlay, it says that I need to turn on location services for Maps to connect. I allow it every time and there is no way to turn location settings on to “always allow.” Maps will only work with CarPlay now if I have maps open on my phone. If I close the app on my phone, it stops work on CarPlay. I never had any issues before the update and this is beyond frustrating. I’m also getting annoying glitches with the weather app working on my Apple Watch. It won’t show up at all despite the setting being on “always allow” location settings.

This iso 18.0.1 did not fix the apple car play problems . I had Chevy look at the car and they confirmed it was to do with the update Apple released. I can’t believe that Apple has not reached out to me about this problem. This is very disappointing in Apple . Apple please fix CarPlay

Mine too! Wireless CarPlay no longer working with my Skoda Karoq and iPhone 13 Pro. Works on the cable, but not wireless. Have tried removing device from car and re-setting up. Have force re-started the phone and updated with the 18.01 patch update. Skoda screen says cannot connect or disconnects as soon as I pull the cable. Infuriating!

I'm getting the same issue as well. iPhone 13 Pro, worked fine with iOS 17. Update to 18 and glitchy sound, Siri doesn’t work and general buggness both wired and wireless.

My wife’s iPhone 11 still in iOS 17 still works perfectly both wired and wireless. So it’s definitely an iOS 18 issue.
