iPhone 16 pro yellowish display tint

I bought my iPhone 16 pro as an upgrade to my 12pro last week. I noticed that my iPhone has a yellowish display tint. Even with True Tone off and night mode off. I love the feel of this phone but the whites being yellow throws my experience off. I had to manually adjust color tints to get it to a richer white. So far it’s ok, but for the price tag $1099.99 I would expect this phone to be flawless in regards to display at least. Please Apple make a software update that will address this issue, I don’t want to gamble on exchanging for a new 16pro.

Similar situation for me, upgrading from 11 to 16 PM.

First thing I notice (dark mode) is the darkish colours had a reddish tinge to them.

I changed the screen saver to the same grey moon on my previous phone and the difference was huge.

11 had a neutral grey and the 16PM was MUCH warmer in colour. When I tilted the phone (top towards me) and looked at the moon picture it went a very cool bluish tint.

I'd read somewhere there was an apple statement on the OLEd displays saying it's an inherent property of OLED displays that they change colour with viewing angle.

So, I took it in the the apple store to compare with the display models. These did not have any issues at all!

So I sent mine back (bought online). Now I don't know what to do.

I might buy one from the store and set it up in the store, then compare with the display models, if it has an issue I'll reject it without all the faff.

Problem is they are on back order for two weeks now.

My lil brother and I figured this out! My fam recently got 4 new 16 pros and we were comparing them when we realized my parent's phones had a different color display. We tried every single setting and made all 4 phones have the exact same settings and two of the phones had a more yellow ish weird color. The phones looked a little more grainy and the blue appeared a lighter color. We found that the two phones that have that horrible display color were made in August compared to the other two phones which were made in September! (The September ones look perfect) So it seems Apple must have updated the screens between August and September!

PS - i sold my device, as a designer i need true colors especially when i spend this much of crazy amount

Same here- 16PM was delivered Wednesday, after few hours I have noticed different color temperature from different viewing angles- it’s “yellow” warm white at direct angle and when tilting in any direction it becomes normal cool “bluish” white as it should be throughout the whole screen when all color filter settings are off and True Tone off as well of course. Guess what Genius Apple Store employees said? They didn’t see it. At all. Well with bright environment conditions it’s difficult to see but still possible- and it’s very visible in dark environment. Had to return it on the spot- never returned an iPhone before. Thinking about keeping my 14PM for another year for this reason unless Apple can fix it with software update or that was really screen problem, no idea.

I just bought an IPhone 16 Pro on 10/06/24 and my screen tint is yellow. Even the Apple rep said my screen looked greenish yellow. I tried fixing with every adjustment and no luck. To be honest my IPhone XS and IPad Pro has a much better color tint with a truer white. I am so upset. Apple must have a different screen supplier? How could they even approve of such a horrible screen.

I have tried every possible way to change my phone. They have color balance bars in their software and that did not work. The opposite of yellow is blue, cyan is red, Magenta is green. The yellow blue controls did not work. My 27 inch NEC Photoshop monitor screen is used with my MAC Studio and it is color balanced with the NEC software and a balance puck looks perfect and I compared it to the Iphone 16 Pro and the Iphone screen is yellow. My iPad Pro screen looks great and the Iphone screen looks yellow to that screen. How hard is it for Apple to offer screen profiles. I spent $1700 on my phone with the Apple Care and my old Iphone XS screen looked better than my new phone. Does Apple even read these consumer issues?
