I have been unable to update my iPhone 8 to iOS 16.7.13. The update seems to download OK; but when I try to install it, I am consistently given a message stating that it was unable to verify the update, and I should try again later.
I have twice deleted the update, and re-downloaded it. This has made no difference.

I am having that same problem too, I have iPhone 8 Plus and I did the same thing that most of you all have done, like resetting power off, reboot, delete the download and reinstall download then clicked install, same results every time.

Screwed if I have to wait that long. My iphone 8+ has the "vertifying update..." message but phone is frozen - cant power off, screen doesnt respond. When I try to reboot, holdIng keys on both sides, I get the power down icon but its useless bc the screen doesnt work. When i press emergency call, i see call being placed with a timer, but no way to access it. The power button and home button respond in a v limited way only, to turn on and off the screen. Iphobe can charge tho.

Please read the posts here and you will find the answer. It is supposed to be unable to verify at this point and not install. The screenshot you posted is exactly what you should see when attempting to install the update.
Having the exact same issue with iPhone8Plus

The problem will likely be fixed in 5-7 days. Try again at that time.
