How to report inappropriate use of "Recommended " tag?

Please alert the moderators!!!

I don't know where to post this. I've self-reported the error with the 'Report Post' tool and requested that the mods delete my answer, but it's quite difficult to explain the problem in 255 characters or less, the limit for a 'Report Post' message.

Somehow my answer with AppleID kostby in this thread was RANDOMLY marked "Recommended ". I am NOT an Apple employee, but this "Recommended " gives the wrong impression and is MISLEADING to anyone who might stumble across the thread in the future.

I have no choice but to discontinue use of this AppleID immediately and will no longer participate in Apple Support Communities.

Thanks in advance for your assistance, since I will be unable to reply.

Call me crazy, but wouldn't it be beneficial if one could somehow see ONLY threads with " Recommended  " answers therein - just like the (worthless) Advanced Search check box for "answered Questions"

User uploaded file

It turns out that that search does not recognize [ " ] quotes to narrow to only within them - like any useful search engine

BUT - all is not lost!!

One can use Google Site Search for ONLY " Apple Recommends " threads - it turns out that the POST is "edited" when the award is made and the *Special* display (like the Answerie) is done client-side as the page finishes its draw. So... one can search for the "edited" part of the post. To wit -

[ "response to * Recommended" site:discussions.apple.com ] no brackets in Google Search

yields only what we seek

the " • " " * " is the username of the OP and the phrase is how Google's crawled page "looks" to Google <= EDIT. ÇÇÇ

Here's what one of tt2's Recommended  replies looks like in the results

[only the BOLD Underline is mine, the ITALICS is Google's letting you know your MATCHING terms

Another great thing about Google is its "Search Tools" function... especially the "TIME" filters (I found tt2's and others that were done on the same date easily -- as it happens, there were 10 Recommends awarded that day)

Thanks for the clarification, only the box is green. Unforfunately the green box and it's position in the orignnal question make it looked like a solved answer. The miniscule print doesn't help either.

Often I read "these are user to user Forums" and "Apple doesn't read the Forum." Not only did Apple Recommends potentially cause the loss off a Forum contributor it now appears that Apple does read the Forum.

How about this (since Apple is watching)below the

Put a teeny-weeny little link at the bottom of the Recommended  pane in the OP - just below the "See answer in context link to Mandy's POST (NOT a User Tip, BTW) Introducing Apple Recommends, Manage Subscriptions, and This Helped Me

Wired or wireless connection to the internet?

Wireless network connections can often result in errors during large, long downloads, regardless of apparent connection speed.

A full Yosemite dmg download is over 5GB.

For best results, use a wired Ethernet connection.

Some people have found that adding additional DNS servers (such as Google or Open Systems) in Network Preferences also improves download times significantly.

WYSIWYG clearly did NOT work... but certainly gave some other interesting results 👿 Remember the cartoon Star?
