Thanks for the update. Wish it was better news. Just as an aside, I updated (added tracks) to one of my playlists (one the HomePod HAS been able to find) and HomePod could still find it AND reflected the updates)
See the Manage Music & Podcasts section of Change settings for HomePod - Apple Support. Try signing out of your Apple ID there, then sign back in again.
If that doesn't work make sure that iCloud Music Library is enabled on the device that you use to configure the HomePod, then set up the HomePod again from scratch: Reset HomePod - Apple Support.

kent133: i actually haven’t even been using this HomePod because I couldn’t play my playlists. I’m very glad to have this feature now. I have been using the HomePod for a variety of home automation tasks. However, Siri is still dumb as a box of rocks. I tell her to turn on a light and she plays “baby light my fire” and other assorted stupid stuff. I find it stunning that Apple has more cash than most countries, and still can’t fix Siri. Anyway, glad this is working for you too.
Yes. Although given the recent reported Alexa major screwup (serendipitously recording conversations and sending them to a random contact) I will (as usual) wait for Apple to get it right.
Yes, I was basically using the HomePod as a speakerphone and for playing entire albums (with lots of “skip this track”s). It seems it’s back to full strength. I’m waiting for reports of experiences using two as AppleTV speakers.
I am subscribed to Apple Music......HomePod wont recognize playlists......highly disappointing. Don't even know if I bring it to an apple store if they can fix it.
Let us know how this turned out (please!).
Please advise when they get back to you. Thank you for pressing Apple Support on this issue.
No, that did not work.
I see iOS 11.4 is expected soon, including HonePod update. I wonder if that will fix the problem?
Thanks for the update.
Have you tried iOS 11.4 yet? Did it fix things for you?
kent133: Wow...I didn’t know 11.4 was out. I’m installing it now and will let you know. Thanks!
Excellent! Mine too!!
Glad this reboot worked for you. I think my issue is different. I’m trying to stream my playlists from the cloud. I don’t want to have to use an iPhone or iPad. I want to be able to tell the HomePod to play my playlist, and have it start immediately streaming via the cloud. When I first talked to Apple support, the tech had me reboot the HomePod and my router. That didn‘t help. Apple escalated this problem and scheduled a second call to me for yesterday. They did call yesterday to tell me that they had not resolved my problem, and would call me when they finally had an answer. So I’m in limbo. I can only play my playlists using airplay from an iphone or an ipad, which really makes the HomePod just like any other dumb speaker.
This is what fixed it for me with Apple support suggestions:
1. delete HomePod from Homekit App.
2. Unplug HomePod Leave for 15seconds.
3. plug in HomePod and press top until you hear 3 beeps.
4. SetUp HomePod again.
5. Unplug Network Router, leave for 5 minutes. At same time power down iPhone/iPad = shut down.
6. Unplug Apple TV’s.
7. Plug in router again and turn on.
8. Plug in AppleTv’s. Turn on iPhone/ipad.
should work.
playlists usually have to include atleast 3 songs.
kent133 and xtopad: I called Apple support again today since it’s been 15 days since they created my work ticket. They then sent me a request that allowed them to view the contents of my iPad. Based on their notes, the engineers wanted to check to see my setting for “allow explicit content” on the HomePod. The setting is turned ON, which is what they wanted it to be (even though I don’t have any music containing explicit content). Then they had me create a new playlist via my iPad, which I then named ”test”. They went to my song list and selected four songs at random to add to the playlist “test”. Then they had my play this new playlist on the HomePod. Siri said “playlist test now playing” and then it started playing some song that neither the Apple rep nor I had ever hear of, and the song was certainly not part of this new playlist. So they rep told me he’d relay this info to their engineers and that they’d call me back whenever. So I told you I’d let you know if and when this issue is resolved. At this time, 4:47 PM eastern, Friday the 13th, my HomePod still sits there as a “dumb speaker”.
some playlists wont play on homepod
