10.13.4 Broke BootCamp Bluetooth

Greetings!

This is super urgent! I need help! Fresh macOS 10.13.4 update most likely installed some new firmware because now I cannot connect to my keyboard or mouse in Windows 10! I tried re-pairing, reinstalling drivers, rebooting and resetting PRAM. Devices seem paired, but they never connect. They connect and disconnect every second to be precise.

I need Windows 10 working by Monday. Kindly give an advice, please.

Thank you.

ok - last update for now. I was rather surprised to find that after the 1803 update I was allowed to then uninstall KB4088776 again, the root of all these problems. After rebooting and re-pairing in macOS the mouse and keyboard are all working fine again. I have pause the updates for now until I have seen this problem fixed. Apple really should escalate this with MS though. Thanks.

Okay. So clean install with KB4093112 does change situation but doesn't fix problem entirely. I have keyboard working rock-solid stable but mouse fails to connect, but not always. Rather once in a few reboots. After that I need either to re-pair in in macOS or turn it off and then back on again to work. Obviously I tried pairing again, power settings etc.

I didn't try multiple reboots on 1803 though. So it seems that to really test we stuck waiting for Spring Creators Update which was amazingly delayed yesterday. For a few weeks apparently.

I can't seem to get an auto-update to 1803 build. I think it might be because im on windows 10 education that isn't activated or something and I don't care to do a fresh windows 10 home install.

I can get KB / M working in both OS, but I have to unpair before switching, then re-pair in OS. otherwise they won't work in Windows at all. I guess I'll just wait it out like this until I see an update go through on the windows side.

Now this is weird. I have very similar configuration. 2017 iMac 4.2Ghz i7, Radeon 575, 32Gb RAM. I am sure they have same radios.

I just installed 1709 from scratch again. Before updates, everything stable. After updates, mouse constantly falls off after reboot. tried resetting everything and re-pairing stuff.

Can you troubleshoot for me please? Kindly unpair wireless mouse and keyboard from Windows 10. Boot into macOS, pair everything that is missing and set startup volume to Windows. Reboot back to Windows. Devices should pair with Windows 10 automatically as it's intended. Then reboot Windows few times, 5-7. For me occasionally mouse will die once in a few reboots. Will moise connect every time for you?

igmackenzie, kindly provide your Bluetooth info like these:

  • Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 6.0.5f3
  • Chipset: 20703A2
  • Firmware Version: v63 c4263

And then troubleshoot your configuration like I described above, please:

  1. Unpair wireless mouse and keyboard from Windows 10.
  2. Boot into macOS, pair everything that is missing.
  3. Set startup volume to Windows.
  4. Reboot back to Windows.
  5. Devices should pair with Windows 10 automatically as it's intended.
  6. Then reboot Windows few times, 5-7.

OK, so

  • Apple Broadcom BT: 6.1.6700
  • Chipset: 20703A2
  • Firmware Version: v67 c4265.

Bit different to yours.

Re the other stuff, I have rebooted Windows about 20 times in the last couple of days, and have had no issues whatsoever. Sorry!

Thanks a ton. Well, me and sbrownpearn are having same issue with mouse unlike you. We all seem to have same 20703A2 radios but different firmwares:

v67 c4265 - for you

v63 c4264 - for sbrownpearn

v63 c4263 - for me.

Last two have issues and are similar. Yours seem a lot different despite the fact that you have very similar machine to mine. That is very interesting.
