Bluetooth Voice Becomes REALLY Slow

The one issue I don't see anyone posting (they may but I must've not read it) is prior to the slowed/warbled sound, the iPhone actually "blacks out" for a few seconds - meaning the screen blacks out and the phone becomes unresponsive (tapping home button - no haptic feedback, power button, moving it from face down to face up doesn't revive it). When it finally recovers by itself (approximately 6 seconds the last time issue occurred to me), that's when the slowed/warbled voice occurs. Is this something quickly restarting?

I am having the same issue. Iphone 7 128G Verizon network running 11.4. I even had Verizon send a 4G LTE Network Extender to my house to increase the signal (full LTE bars) and I still have the issue (possibly made it worse). I use BeatsX and Jabra BT headset and both have issues. We'll see with iOS 12 but please keep the posts coming on any progress.

I am having the same issues. Called into Apple support and they were less than helpful. They suggested I basically remove all BT devices in my iPhone “forget” them and then re-attach them. I will try once again to see if this will work but to no avail will end up going into the store as I have not seen any response from Apple.

I have the same problem. Plantronics 5200. On my end I hear people slowing down. The other side hears a speed up - "Chipmunk voice". Very annoying. Randomly happens a 3 second intervals. Can't fix it at all. I've complained to Plantronics. They point to apple. iphone 6s.

this happens on Airpods and in car BT.

any reports from Apple yet?

I have also just updated to 11.4 two days ago and still have the issues.

It is getting quite frustrating as I am on the phone a lot for work.

I have the exact same problem. What can we do here? Buying Samsung? I have this every second business call and i figured out now that it is the bluetooth and not the device as such.

I am on Verizon.

It’s become a joke- it has gotten so bad. “You went chipmunk”- “you went bullfrog”. This has gotten increasingly worse.

That’s very interesting agroenev, this is the first I’ve heard of any iPhone besides a 6 or 7. It must be related to 11.4. Apple - are you listening?

I want to thank you for taking the time to post that you had tried a total reset. Was planning on going that route, so you saved me hours that would have lead nowhere.

The eMeet uses Bluetooth's 4.2 standard.

Near as I can tell, the Beats Solo 3 has changed over time so I'm not sure which specific model I've got. Could be the 4.0, 4.1, or 4.2 standard.
