Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I just installed the latest itunes version (12.7.4.76) and the latest IOS (11.3) on my iPad and iPhone and now itunes won't sync my pictures from my PC library on either device.
I have tried selecting "all folders" and "selected folders" Nothing works...
I have rebooted both the PC and iPad and Restored by iPad and NOTHING works.
Itunes just sits with the message "Reading photos from "Pictures" FOREVER!!!

I have the same problem suddenly, for all my devices, iPhone 6S, iPhone7, iPad Pro, the newest iPad, iPad old................total 6 devices, all cannot syn photos via my notebook which is using Window 10.
I hope Apple is not trying to push all users to use iCloud, I have 40GB photos and I really don't want to buy the cloud.
If Apple really wants to do this, I will give up using Apple products!
Updating to the new version of iTunes (12.7.5.9) and iOS (11.4) worked for me, also. This is the first time since I installed iOS 11 that my iPhone synced as quickly as it used to, and not get stuck syncing photos.
Hooray! Seems like Apple have got it fixed at last. Upgrading iPhone 6 to iOS v11.4 and iTunes to v12.7.5.9 restored speed of photo synch to what it used to be, maybe even slightly faster.
It had been taking me a day and a half to two days to synch 6,500 photos from my PC (and sometimes having to abort before it completed). After the upgrade to v11.4 the time is down to about 6 minutes for the lot (so fast that I didn't even time it accurately).
Do you have a large photo library and personal albums? have an iphone 7. I updated the iOS and iTunes to the latest versions. It finally sinc’d files and Apple-created photo albums but not those I created. This ***** because I need those photos for my business. Also the sync was still slow. I unchecked all but one personal album with 700 photos as to not overload the sync. That album is still not visible. This has been such an unending pain in the butt!
I have the same problem. Not an iOS problem as I only got the problem when I updated ITunes to 10.7.4. The same issue happens on iPad and iPhone
I tried the empty folder and it doesn't remove the pictures. I even tried with the same name and to no avail.

Yes I have the exact same problem!! I can do maybe 1 folder at a time but it takes ages before it even starts to sync!

I am trying something new. I have uninstalled the current version and downloading the previous one 12.7.3. Will post how it turns out.
Tried it. But still wont work. I tried to sync in iphone 6s plus it worked but not to iphone x. Dont know why. Icloud library is off.
It is working. I am already on Step 6 of 6 and have copied 5600 pictures. If you have Win 10 and iTunes 12.7.4, follow my directions and downgrade to 12.7.3 until Apple fixes the problem.
is your iPhone running ios 11.3?
I just officially called Apple support in HK, they will test with me tomorrow, I will update you guys if they could find some solutions.
and now its back to reading photos from photos......annoying, really!!!!
